12/19/2024 CCLQ @ Gayle's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the group got together at Gayle's and enjoyed her house all decorated for the holiday.

Maggie did some sewing to make this pattern by Andover
called Allegiance

Cheryl busy making seasonal pot holders.

Linda told us that the Christmas quilt she made for her sister was all done and in the mail.  Photo of the finished quilt was shared from her phone.

Candy gave us an update about Ruth's PT schedule for furture meetings.  We'll need to work around scheduling and keep Ruth on the rota to be able to host at her home.

Linda told us the Red Panda quilt top was done and is currently on Gayle's longarm getting the quilting done.

Britt was able to join today and had some remarkable shows not quilted but amazing.  The smallest art journal I ever saw was made with a Milk Duds box as the cover.  And she showed a Cork wallet she made (this is just one of many).

DeeDee has been enjoying some retail purchases.

Joy was excited to share with the group that this little quilt was selected to be in a special exhibit at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, MA.  The exhibit runs from January - March 2025.

Carol told about a Trip to Dollywood with her College roomies that was wonderful but a little bit dangerous with the fog while driving over the mountains.

Deborah had been visiting with friends expecting to get a little hand sewing done but was pleasantly surprised to be on the go the whole time.

Gayle found the most perfect back for her very colorful Chandelier Quilt

That's all for this week!

Happy Holidays

12/12/24: CCLQ at Candy’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week ten quilters met at Candy’s house.  Enjoy the wonderful variety of quilts and other crafted items.

Ruth S shared this beautiful Round Robin quilt.  She plans to donate it for Veterans.

Ruth also completed this adorable kids donation quilt top.

This quilt is named…”Going Buggy!”

Ruth dazzled us with another project..a very merry Christmas tree wall hanging.

Ruth embellished the tree with red beads.

Ruth has also been making Christmas tree ornaments from a variety of found objects.

Maggie finished this fabulous fall banner.  The fabrics were from Lori Holt.

DeeDee made this purple tote bag for Angela who we met through Ruth B.  Ruth picked out the fabric.

DeeDee is almost finished with the binding on this wonderful quilt for Harbor.

Candy shared this sweet holiday card that her daughter designed.

Joy shared this marvelous accordion art journal.

Linda H shared these pins that she purchased in NYC.

Linda also shared some photos of shops she visited in the garment district of New York.

This store mainly sold zippers of all sizes!

Linda asked her daughter’s boyfriend what colors he liked for a quilt.

He said he always like red pandas.  Linda found this awesome red panda fabric on Spoonflower.

The panda fabric line also had a nice complementary  striped fabric.

Lynda reported that her husband recently reconnected with a cousin. This is one of the quilts made by his cousin.

This quilt journal Quiltfolk featured an article about the quilter and her daughter who are both quilters.  Very fascinating story.

Cheryl finished the baby quilt for a friend.

Close up of Cheryl’s wonderful spiral quilting!

Carol finished another lovely scrappy donation quilt.

Carol also finished this wonderful Wanderer quilt. It’s a fun method to use up orphan blocks and scraps!

Carol also finished this fun one inch “U” quilt.  Carol reported that she is busy smocking a dress for the new grand baby.

Deborah brought an unfinished bag for her son-in-law.

She found lots of fun fabrics that reflect his interest. The last fabric should arrive today and will be added to the bottom.

Inside pocket is a Star Trek fabric.

Quilt for one of the twins is on Candy’s design wall.

Candy showed this beautiful finished quilt for one of the twins.

Thank you Joy for taking our wonderful group shot.

Christmas party will be at Carol’s this Saturday. Happy holidays and safe travels to all!
