4/20/17: CCLQ @ Ruth S's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week six quilters met at the home of Ruth S.
Ruth's kitchen greets you with a lovely "Market Day" quilt.  This quilt makes me want to go to the Farmer's Market!

Ruth treated us to yummy gluten free brownies with icing and scones!

Ruth's dining room provides a perfect setting for two lovely appliqué wall quilts.

The group gets started with show and tell.

What's this?  This is not a quilt!  It's ok though as our group branches out to all types of sewing, knitting, crocheting, art, and craft!  DeeDee is make a nightgown and this is the pattern for it.

Here's the cute cotton knit fabric DeeDee will use for the nightgown.

Deborah shows a quilt that she made a couple of years ago.  This is her entry for the NCQS quilt show in May.
Evelyn Sloppy designed the pattern for this quilt.

Close up of Deborah's quilt.

Abstract camera shot...
Joanna shared these sumptuous fabrics.

Here's one of Joanna's blocks using the above fabrics.

Joanna will use the fabrics to make this "Patchwork Fields" quilt.

Britt is busy working on her appliqué quilt blocks.

Cheryl is working on the binding of a quilt for a friend.

Please turn your head to the left and view this wonderful small quilt made by Britt. It will be in the  Silent Auction at NCQS.

Here's Britt's mystery quilt with the border added.  Nice work Britt!

Ruth showed the fabric she's using to make a baby quilt for her niece.

Here's the pattern for Ruth's baby quilt.

Here's the Bluff Quilt... a beautiful reminder of where Ruth will spend the summer.

Only a little over one more week until the "Shop Hop!"  Britt and Joanna have graciously agreed to make T-Shirts for everyone.  Stay tuned for the Shop Hop blog to see our group in their T-Shirts. A big Thank You to Britt for organizing this Shop Hop!

The group enjoyed dining at Tazikis Cafe

Until next week.... in honor of the shop hop......

What are the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters up to this week?

This week ten quilters met at Linda's house. Linda treated us to delicious gluten free blueberry muffins, coffee, and tea. This week we had a surprise guest...keep reading to find out who!
Ruth S made this lovely baby quilt for her brother's stepson's baby.
Close up of the quilting by Savannah...Ruth's new machine.

Ruth S also shared a new guide book that she made for her new machine.  I think Jean recommended that she make this book.  Ruth reported that it is a handy thing to do!
This adorable donation quilt for the Animal Rescue Auction was made by Ruth S.

Joanna is almost finished with the Escher inspired  donation quilt for NCQS.
Cheryl is binding the quilt that she made for a friend!  I looks great Cheryl!
Cheryl used a variety of decorative stitches from her machine.

Candy worked on the QOV today and finished the binding!  Yay!

The surprise guest......we were all thrilled that Ella joined us today!

Ruth B finished the assembly of the Twirling in Reverse blocks!  Ruth plans to find some reproduction fabrics on our upcoming shop hop.
Ruth B has added some lovely embroidery stitches to her landscape quilt.

Linda made this wonderful quilt for her great niece.
What a cool way to use those extra blocks!

Linda also made this colorful quilt. She will add a border to this.

Here's the pattern Linda used for the above quilt. Linda also plans to use the asymmetrical border idea.
Britt shared a photo of her completed NC Botanical Garden Wildflower Quilt.  She delivered the quilt and it's already hanging in the Education Building at the NC Botanical Gardens.
Another close up of Joe-Pye Weed.

Britt also showed her marvelous Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt top!

Deborah showed a photo of her latest quilting project.  She made a quilted headboard using Kaufman linen-cotton blend.
Several quilters enjoyed lunch at Mebane Downtown Table.

Until next week...."We live in a web of ideas, a fabric of our own making."  Joseph Chilton Pearse.
