6/12/25: CCLQ at Maggie’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  On June 12th quilters met on Maggie’s back porch. Maggie provided some yummy cranberry orange cake, pimento cheese and crackers and other tasty treats. The weather was lovely.

This beautiful bargello quilt looks great on Maggie’s porch.

Maggie recently completed this twig table runner.

Ella had fun going to Cary Quilting Company with DeeDee last weekend and found fabrics for her “Ella” quilt pattern.

Ella purchased a new pattern too. This one is entitled the “Molly” Quilt.

Ella’s beautiful new fabrics.

Linda reported that she’s working on the beach themed quilt for a friend.

Maggie shared this cool “Sonata” pattern which was a surprise gift from her husband.

Maggie quilted this quilt for her friend Shelia.

Deborah reported that she’s cut out a baby quilt and plans to start sewing soon.

Until next time, happy quilting!

6/19/25 CCLQ @ Deedee's

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting.

Carol received some UNC fabric in Pink from Joy.  A nice welcome back.

Candy is planning on making a new crossbody bag and had the patterns she has used in the past.

Brit showed us one of her own quilts she was able to longarm.  We expect more of her own longarm quilts in the near future.

Joy is finishing up a challenge with the prompt of -- a view from a plane.  She has to applique down the window oval and get it in the mail to Scotland before the deadline.

Gayle's got another his and her quilts ready for the fellowship.  And the sourdough bread is going gang busters with a double sized loaf.

Deborah has started on one of the quilts she and Deedee are doing for their shared acupuncturist.  Warning to the group about cutting checks when the wof is folded in half ... don't do it ... open it up to get the checks straight.

Linda has her Sea Life quilt ready for gifting.  She also shared recent purchase of some fabric by designer Paula Nadelstern.

Deedee got back a Kitty wall hanging she did a few years ago and she finished making a pillow cover with some super sweet rose fabrics.  She also showed us her starting on the 2nd childs quilt for the shared acupuncturist.

Lynda the Llama lady is ready to move on to another Animal after this final Llama fabric donation.  The back got some test blocks.

Cheryl is glad to be back from her trip out west.

Carol has the ultimate bordered focus fabric quilt all done and ready for donation.  She also is using her feather weight machine to stitup this Sunshine Yellow donation top.

Maggie made some 4.5" log cabin blocks to be used at the next Quilt show at the kids activity area.  She also completed a donation quilt from 3.5" x 5.5" rectangles (the blocks finish at 12x15 and the quilt is 48x60).  The backing used up the little bits to increase the wof.

Stay cool next week and keep sewing along!

6/5/2025 CCLQ @ Passmore hosted by Ella

Welcome to this weeks meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters (ie. Weekly NT).  Ella hosted the group at the Passmore Senior Center.

Linda started us off showing her latest shopping stash.  As she needed a break from the purple and turquoise complex blocks she is doing for her next quilt.

Maggie showed what she did with the Panel that Deborah gave her.  Group agreed another color than red would work for the binding.  Also showed a donation Hot Pink Kitties quilt that she machine sewed the binding on.

Deedee has a new hat band on her beloved straw hat.  The scrap fabrics and the rose’s embellishment were repurposed gifts from other quilters but it just looks wonderful on this hat.  She also did some shopping and got a panel to make a stuffed Halloween Skeleton and a new Eliza pattern.  Finally she showed a donation top that is not one of her favorites but will be for someone.

Candy showed us this lovely panel and asked for suggestion on how to re-arrange it.

Ruth is done with the Round Robin and is donating it for someone else to enjoy.

Deborah had a busy week but no show.

Gayle is working on the next fellowship quilt.

Lynda had fun doing some free motion quilting over the weekend.  Stay tuned for he results.

Ella is doing some deep dive into boxes that have been in storage since she moved.  She had a few goodies to give away (sorry no pic) and showed us all this lovely christmas tree that was a challenge from the NT Years Past.  I believe the embroidered tree was from Jean Fettermen, and Ella added all the photo blocks around it.  Blast from the Past.

That's all from the Quilters for this week.

Here are some of the plants and flowers at the back entrance.
