3/10/16 - CCLQ @ Ella's

Welcome to the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee blog!!  I'm here to report on this week's Cherry Creek Lane Quilt Bee meeting.  We were at Ella's house today.  She had some sort of gingerbread/apple cake thing for us and it was fresh from the oven and still warm when we arrived.  YUM!!

Ella also had a Carrot Cupcake for our birthday girl, Dee Dee:

Happy Birthday, Dee Dee!!!

We got off to a slow start because some of us we in "catch up" mode (which means there was a LOT of chatter!!)  That's OK, though, because we still had plenty of time for...

Show and Tell...

Jean made a "Willie" Bag for a friend.  It just needs handles:

Ella dug out her batik scraps to make the quilt that Dee Dee shared last week at Joanna's:

However, she is "super-sizing" the block:

Three more blocks came in for our Group Quilt:

Ella is making an Easter Egg wall hanging for her kitchen:

Joy put O's T-quilt together... Minus the bottom 2 rows:

Ruth was searching her iPad for the photos from Arizona:

Jean finished Ramse's Quilt:

She echoed the ram head with the quilting:

Of course there is UNC fabric on the back and look at the adorable tiny border:

Ruth S. worked on binding a Donation Quilt:

Joanna made a Star Block mini quilt for NC Quilt Symposium:

Cheryl was playing with her iPad:

Deborah did some more hand quilting:

Dee Dee played with her new camera:

Jean brought strips for her basket project:

Dee Dee found two bird panels like the ones that Ruth S. showed last week.  She shared the second panel with her bird-loving friend Cheryl K:

Here's a detail shot of Deborah's quilting:

Jean found an interesting bird quilt on Pinterest.  This appears to be from Connecting Threads:

Joanna worked on a drawing:

Cheryl K. worked on binding a Baby Quilt:

Jean tried to figure out the directions for her basket project:

HERE is one of the photos that Ruth B's daughter took of the Plastic Bottle Light Display:

These are some of Ella's scraps, along with the pattern she is making... NOT in the size shown:

After help from several friends, Jean's basket project is beginning to take shape:

Couldn't resist another look at Ella's beautiful batik scraps:

HERE is the bag that Dee Dee carried today... TOO cute!!!  Stuffed kitties sewn on:

Ella's next handwork project is a Seasonal Tea Pot Quilt:

Gayle was missing... AGAIN!!!  :o((

Eventually, Dee Dee's lunch timer sounded and 6 of us carpooled to Saxapahaw for lunch at the Saxapahaw General Store (since there are never very many available parking spots.)

Until next time...
Quilt on!!!

Edited to Add...

Jean did just that!! She finished AND delivered the bag.  Here's the happy recipient:

3/3/16 - CCLQ @ Joanna's

Nine of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters met at Joanna's today.  Joanna baked a "Dump Cake" for us and had a pot of coffee waiting when we arrived.  Double YUM!!!

Stay tuned.  We are trying something new, but first...

Show and Tell!!!  (Which may be SLIGHTLY different than those who were there recall.)  :o))

Candy couldn't remember if she showed her placemats last time. There are 48 HSTs in each:

What is Deborah doing over there?  You will have to wait and see:

Hello, Quilters:

Wait a minute!!  Where did Deborah go???

There she is!  What IS she doing with her phone???

Joy appreciated the scrap infusion that Candy brought for her:

Remember at the beginning of the post that I said that we were trying something new today?  Well, Ella had an idea for a surprise for one of our followers.  Please click the arrow on the photo below:

Today we found out that it's Ella's sister, Jeri, loves our blog and enjoys seeing our projects each week. We also found out that today is Jeri's birthday. Happy birthday!!!

Thanks for making that video happen, Deborah!!  You can thank Ella that we kept the outtakes.  LOL

Dee Dee's lunch timer went off and 8 of us headed off to Bennett Pointe Grill.  THIS is for Lisa over in England and, believe me, it was YUMMY:

Until next time...
