11/10/16 - CCLQ @ Ruth S's

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  We were at Ruth S's house this week. Missed a number of our member, but that meant more scones for the seven of us in attendance!  :P

We got down to the "business" of Show and Tell fairly quickly today.  Wanna see??

Six of us headed off to Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe for a delicious lunch.  If you are in the O'Kelley Chapel area of Cary, NC... we highly recommend stopping by!!

11/3/16 - CCLQ @ Joy's

Welcome to this week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  We were at Joy's house... just ignore the dust.  Nine members enjoyed fresh coffee, along with chocolate chip muffins (fresh out of the oven.)

Once the chatting settled to a dull roar, we began Show and Tell...

Deborah arrived before very many others were here, so she made use of Joy's "design floor" to lay out some wonderful 9-Patch blocks.  A hand-me-down UFO:

Joy returned these kerchiefs to Jean, who will be making a quilt for Willie.  Joy is sure to get the somewhat shrunken scraps at some point in the future:

Joy brought out the fabrics that she purchased at New Beginning Quilt Shop in Hendersonville.  Who says you can't buy fabric at a yarn festival?!?!  These SALE fabrics are for finishing Think Spring, a portion pictured below:

Candy worked on a holiday stocking:

Cheryl K. started off by looking through some reading material:

Joanna shared some "quilt tubes" for rolling quilts for travel or storage.  Candy was one of several takers:

10/27/16 CCLQ at Candy's

Welcome to the weekly blogpost of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week eight quilters met at Candy's house and enjoyed delicious chili cheese squares with coffee and tea.

What a lovely table runner under those yummy treats! 

Ruth S is busy threading a needle to work on the stunning cottage quilt. Read more to find out solutions for what to do when you lose a sewing needle. :) 

Ruth B is working on her landscape quilt. Ruth needed some more embroidery floss. 

Candy glad shared her absolutely fabulous collection of  floss! This was one of three notebooks of floss. 

DeeDee worked on trimming some small  "quilt sandwiches" for her Jane Lafazio project. Can't wait to see this!

Joanna worked on a counted cross-stitch project. 

Here's Joanna's design. It's based on an ECU logo.

Candy worked on the binding for her niece's quilt. 

Ella sewed a sleeve on this wall quilt for her kitchen. 

Joanna shared this technique for working out a quilting design. Place a piece of clear transparency paper over a copy of your quilt design and use a Vis-a-Vis marker to try out different quilt designs.  The marker wipes off and you can use the transparency multiple times.

Deborah knitted a bit on a scarf.

Joanna finished the quilting on Ella's peacock quilt!

Ella finished this autumn themed quilt top using fusible appliqué.

We all wanted to see Ruth S's cottage quilt again!

This is the family cabin that some of us stayed in last year and we had our meals here too!

Ruth S also finished this beautiful bag!


Ah yes...needles were lost and FOUND at this meeting. Thank goodness!! Joanna had a great idea for us all to add to our sewing kit....magnetic tool with light.


The  group went to Mebane Downtown Table for a lovely and delicious lunch.

10/25/16 - NT Nights @ Hboro Library

Welcome to the October meeting of the Nimble Thimbles evening quilt bee!!  There were 5 of us in attendance and I'm filling in on taking notes (don't expect the usual witty remarks ... I'm more like Dragnet Frank Gannon "Just the Facts" ...

Really hoping we get a camera to take some pics because I forgot my phone...

Here we go.  Victoria joined me and we pinned away until Britt, Bo, and Kirsten joined us.

Victoria pinned the last row of large nine block throw quilt.
