PLANNING SESSION...
Today's order of business was discussing our Art Project at Dee Dee's. We had previously discussed painting Barn Quilts. At the time, a number of people were on board for participation. Upon further consideration, this project has been CANCELLED due to (current) lack of interest!!

Helena - She's HERE!!! Her TELL is that she started a new quilt at Britt's house. It's the Pecking Order quilt from Missouri Star Quilt Company that Britt and Joy are also making:

Note: She wants to use glitter thread that has been in her stash for some time. She was advised to use a size 18 needle.
Candy found Colour Werx online (formerly Linderella's now in California) and got a downloadable pattern for signing up for their newsletter:
Gayle - TELL - Mandatory!! Everyone MUST take a book from this box by the door:

Another baby quilt had its quilting completed this morning:
Gayle also had a TELL - They have a serious buyer on the old house. This time, after multiple offers and a larger earnest money deposit!!

Her other TELL - After some consideration of keeping it, her Gammill longarm will have to go. Now asking $7000!!!
Dee Dee - TELL - The Tulip Quilt is not quite done, so it had to stay home.
She's doing some Secret Sewing which is coming along, but brought color swatches to share:
She assured us that the quilt will be completed by next month's meeting:

Ella - Fabric collection made into a quilt like Jean's Marsha Durst (?) quilt and just for fun:
She did some couching:
It's finished WITHOUT binding (called knife edge per Britt), as that's her least favorite part of the quilting process. Ella added couching to finish off the edge:
She even added couched flowers and leaves:
Britt - Playing with her Pecking Order scraps, she came up with this awesome block...
... And decided to see how far the scraps could take her...
Four completed blocks later, she determined they would make a nice Cubical Quilt for work:
TELL - Renovations at work thru July. How does that relate to quilting? She will get to work four 10-hour days and attend a number of CCLQ meetings on Thursdays.

Ruth B. - TELL - Forgot her food item until time to LEAVE this morning!
Lots of cutting, but it didn't really take that long to put together. Pillow for her daughter's birthday:
She was rummaging around and found this "cheater" quilt. Ruth plans to finish it for a Habitat (for Humanity) project:
She pulled these fabrics from her stash to enlarge the quilt:
ASK - Wants the resulting quilt to be larger and rectangular. How should she accomplish the task?
ANSWER - (Came from Gayle) Cut 3 rows of width off and then add the borders.

Kirsten - At the Great Wall (of China) she stopped at a shop on the first day and had to purchase:
She was glad that she made the tour guide stop because she never saw anything like it, again:
She was on her own for lunch in Singapore and for this Japanese print to make something for her mother:
These Malaysian influenced pieces were found in the Muslim district and needed to come home with her:
Kirsten also had a TELL - They are already planning their next adventures...
Norway in July 2020 and New Zealand in February of 2021!
Ruth B. also had a TELL - The mall near her daughter's house up in Alexandria had a Hancock's that is now Fabric Place Basement. They have a large supply of decorator fabrics, batiks for $8.99/yard, and quilting cottons for $6.99/yard.
Dee Dee looked it up online for us:
Linda - Is the one with the new tattoo!! She and her daughter got (nearly) matching heart tattoos:
She's smiling because of...
... Her TELL - They got tickets to the BTS concert up in New Jersey (for less than her daughter's ONE ticket last year.) If that wasn't enough, Linda found BETTER tickets for the 2nd night for HALF the price of the first night!!
Candy made an announcement:
Mystery book author, Louise Penny, will be coming to Raleigh. Candy and Britt have tickets. She wondered if anyone else would like to go along with them.
