Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting. This week Candy hosted at the Chapel Hill Library 8 members attending.
Lynda shared her new finds from the Burnsville quilt shop. The book showed up just when she needed some direction to work on some blocks that are of various sizes. She has also stared collecting dotted fabrics to build up her scrap stash. Topping it off with another Kitty Cat donation quilt.
Britt has this purple donation top all quilted. Nice variety of purples and pops of green and yellow from the Unkown Piecer.
Joy has her teal/aqua challenge done
Gayle has a couple of tops finished ready for her longarm machine. She has one more quilt in mind to continue using Ruth B's fabrics.
Deborah reported the beach was wonderful and she has a new project in the works.
Maggie showed a donation log cabin that was pieced by a friend. She quilted it with batting from the Tuesday Group that sure gives it a wonderful thick feel. Read about it here. Also showed some doggie food placemat and bowl cozzy. (video) The ruler for making the cozzy curves is a standard Multi Size Curved Corner Cutter amazon.
I cut the dart 1" from fold and 2 5/8ths down. You could just use 2" down, I do that when using 10" squares to start. These doughnut cozys were from 10.5" squares to start. New tip just watched Notches Sewing bowl cozy
Another way is ..
How to sew a flat fold microwave basket with handles. A new bowl cozie style or is it a storage box?
I reduced bulk by cutting a 2.25 square out of the batting corners before sewing the pillow case around the edges.
