1/21/21 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE

Welcome to another week at the Cherry Creek Lane Quilter's (virtual) Bee!!!  We had a few technical difficulties today.  Alas, the show must go on.  Thanks to the members who made that happen!

Show and Tell...

Ella: Served as our hostess for today. She was working on corners of her blue and white leftovers from the quilts made for her grandsons.

Carol: Finished lovely Easter baskets for grandkids.  Each basket has their name embroidered on it!  Finished an adorable bear quilt for her grandson (quilted by Joy.)

DeeDee: Took three quilts to Carol H yesterday. Finishing some UFO’s!   Showed a beautiful donation quilt with scraps and black and white and blue.  “Sunday in the Park Revisited” pattern from Jenny Doan. Shared a gorgeous civil war pattern made from batik scraps. Plans to use an orange blossom template to quilt this one.

Lynda:  Started on Bright Squares quilt. It uses 2.5x2.5 inch squares. Britt suggested using a die cutter to make all those little blocks.

Cheryl K:  Cut out the back to the butterfly quilt.  Plans to start quilting the butterfly quilt soon. In the process of cutting out a large bag for a friend who’s retiring.

Ruth S:  Loved the blog post honoring Joanna...Thank you, Joy!  Shared the “I spy” quilt.  This quilt was based on the “I Spy” books which always included a poem to help kids find the objects.  Ruth wrote her own poem for the quilt and puts in on the front of the quilt.

Joy:  Challenge week for Project Quilting... the prompt is “fussy cut”.  Found a bag from DeeDee with cars and made a cute wall hanging using cars on front and back.  Working on quilting her pink table runner.

Linda H: Made a couple more purple and black blocks for her quilt.  Will show next week.

Ruth B: Used a new pattern to make a mask and really likes it. (It matches her shirt almost perfectly!)

Deb: Finished LWR donation quilt top for Joy.  Made block 8 for BOM project. Four more blocks to go! Ready to do an improv block.

Cheryl B: Shared a cute house block...sewed by hand!  Made a lovely blue quilted box complete with removable top. Shared a dramatic black and white border for a stunning appliqué quilt.

Maggie:  Camera wasn’t working but used screen share to show us a stunning “Stacked Up” quilt by Colourwerx. Went to Cary Quilting to get fabrics for a Ricky Tims Convergence Quilt.

Britt:  Shared that she is closer to done on her commission and she started her table runner challenge quilt
