1/21/17 - NT Sew Day @ SECU Family House

Welcome to the January 2017 meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee!!  Candy arranged for us to have a Sew Day at the SECU Family House.  Helena and Ruth S. were kind enough to offer to host the event.  Thanks to all three of you and everyone who brought treats to share!!

There were 12 members in attendance.  Joy began bugging everyone for photos as soon as she arrived.

She wanted to have time to sew, too!!

Dee Dee, Carol, and Gayle must have gotten the color memo:

Gayle brought a quilt that she quilted for Carol:

HERE is a close-up of the quilting:

Dee Dee brought a UFO to work on:

Ruth worked on a Scrap Quilt with remains from the Bluff Quilt:

Linda started a new project:

Helena worked on a Table Runner:

Candy concentrated on producing small wallets for Dana's upcoming Cameron Village Craft Show:

PLEASE NOTE:  We are ALL invited to join in!!  See Candy for further details on the April event.

Carol stitched down the binding of a Baby Gift:

Margaret also cut into a NEW project:

Gayle found some "quilter's eye candy" online...

... And pieced the background before she arrived:

The photo below shows the pattern that Helena will be using with the pieces made in Bonnie Hunter's En Provence QAL.  You will also see Helena's Leader/Ender Project made from scraps leftover from making her Day Break Quilt by Jaybird Quilts:

Ruth S. completed all of her scrappy blocks:

Britt got busy cutting more pieces for her En Provence Mystery:

The next step for Gayle was cutting out flowers:

A quick shot of "The Three Musketeers":

WAIT!!  Is this shot better???

As soon as the last person arrived, we began Show and Tell...

Joy completed the top of her Rainbow Strings Quilt:

She pieced a back for it, but it decided that it wants to be a FRONT:

Joy also brought along her quilted Think Spring Mystery quilt:

If you double-click on this photo, you may get a detailed view:

Britt shared her completed Jamestown Landing quilt top:

Here's another try at getting the WHOLE thing in the photo:

When Show and Tell was done, we had a few announcements...

Candy mentioned there were donation envelopes on the tables for those inclined to contribute to Family House for allowing us to use this beautiful space for our Sew Day:

Britt shared information about the Nimble Thimbles Shop Hop that she is planning for sometime in April:

The last order of business was Jean discussing her findings regarding our trip to Quilt Con in Savannah, GA in February:

We were SEW busy that we had a bit of a late lunch.  Boy was it worth the wait!!  Everything was DE-lish!!!

After lunch, we made a final push on our projects...

THIS is the pattern that Candy is using:

Helena is almost finished with the layout for her Table Runner:

Britt arranged the first of her blocks for En Provence:
