Welcome! This week Deborah hosted and we celebrated Gayle's Brithday (that day) and Ruth S's coming up on Sunday! After some delishous almond cake with chocolate ganache we did a little show-n-tell.
Cheryl sent us a picture of the current project on her design wall.
Lynda did a grand reveal of her 2024 Round Robin blocks Quilt all finished. What a great backing making use of the extra fabrics. She is currently working on another donation using kaffe 6" strip fabrics.
Maggie had two show's the first was a scarf she got as a gift from her sisterin law Cathy who is an excellent knitter. For her donation quilt the group decided that of the 3 binding options; the lime green would work the best given the baking fabric.
Carol was a little stumped on how to finish off this red/white/blue "Key Hole" top and got inspiration from a Villa Rosa pattern that Deedee had and it sure turned out beautifully. She then embraced a technique to use scraps to make jelly rolls. So using a thin foundation fabric scraps were stitched and flipped. Can't wait to see what she does with these strips. Candy is working on a tote bag for a gift it's giving her fits but she is still smiling.
Gayle the Bithday Girl is also smiling and dreaming about the two trips she is planning for 2025.
Ruth S. finished piecing a donation top using up some vintage stash. She also did a baptism banner and is happy to be done. Word to the wise everyone burlap is not easy to work with.
Linda has two projects being worked on but no progress this week because what she should work on is not inspiring and what she wants to work on would be a guilty pleasure. Hopefully the group advice will help her move along on both.
Deedee has one of the smallest show (maybe only rivaled by Britt's milk duds journal). It's for her mixed media group where they were given a tiny loom to weave this creation.
Deborah has been cleaning up her studio space and found a cut off art piece that she is now going to make into a table runner or wall hanging. It will be a gift and the ombreh backing will certainly enchance it both as possible borders and backing.
Ella showed her pinwheel donation that is now quilted and ready for binding.
That's all for this week.
Lovely projects, everyone! Sorry that I wasn't able to make the meeting.
