Celebrating Ruth B!
Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week the group met at Passmore Senior Center to celebrate and wish a fond farewell to Ruth B who is moving next week to be closer to her family. We wish you all the best Ruth B! Ruth is taking her sewing machine and fabric and will have a sewing room! The group discussed planning a road trip to visit Ruth once she gets settled in. A couple of weeks ago Ruth B hosted bee at her home and shared a table full of beautiful fabrics from her stash. This week Ruth brought boxes of sewing notions, batting, rick rack, binding, buttons to share with the group. Ruth received hugs from all at the end of our meeting. We love you Ruth and will miss you!

Ruth has been busy packing for her move and found this beautiful Churn Dash quilt top. She recalls that this quilt was made from fabrics from a shop hop several years ago. Ruth S provided some extra fabric for Ruth B to complete the blocks. Ruth B asked if anyone had more fabric for the border. Britt offered to complete the border and quilt this for Ruth B. What a wonderful group of quilting friends! |
Maggie to the rescue!!! Maggie found this fabric in her stash and will get it to Britt. This is one of the reasons why quilters collect fabrics. 😊 |
Gayle completed this lovely quilt top using Fossil Ferns from her stash and some cute King Cake fabric from Bull Town fabrics. This quilt will be for one of her Fellowship friends. |

DeeDee modeled a new hat with an old hat band. |
DeeDee created this lovely band and originally attached it to another hat that didn’t fit so well, so she removed the band and added it to a proper fitting hat! Well done! |
Maggie surprised DeeDee with this panel for making a large crow doll! DeeDee loves birds and dolls so this is the perfect project for her. |
DeeDee completed this lovely four patch quilt top. |
DeeDee plans to add these two borders. |
Britt suggested adding little four patch blocks on point in the border. |

Deborah tried a new art quilt technique from Helen Parsons. This method involves cutting quarter inch strips of fabrics and layering those strips between two layers of Sulky water soluble fabric stabilizer. The piece is then soaked in water to remove the stabilizer and then embellishments can be added. |
Carol shared this photo of a lovely baby quilt using neutral fabrics from Spoon flower. Zoom in to see the fun animal designs.
Until next time…
“May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face; The rains fall soft upon your fields And till we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
❤️Happy quilting❤️ |
