Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. The meeting was held at Ruth's home and we had sweets with our chats and show-n-tell.
Maggie started by Showing Ella's Ella Quilt (yes that is correct). The pattern is called Ella and Candy got for her to try out. Candy stepped up to apply the binding ... I'd say that's Full Circle.
The group had a Saturday sewday at Family house and here is Maggie's Trail Tote Bag finished and a bowl cozy made using a new curve ruler that has a few diffent size curves
Candy showed us her design wall that has her blocks for the "Safety Dance" quilt pattern by Sewistry NC which is a modern, block-based design inspired by airplane safety signs, featuring radiating "arms". The ruler for half rectangles by Creative grids didn't cover the unique size that the pattern called for so back to the template she made to get the exact angle.
Britt was busy quilting this lovely top by Ella that she made for a donation. It was the perfect chance for Britt to use a new panto design that I for one will want on my quilts.
Deborah has the ocean view from space quilt top all together and it is amazing. Each fabric is a photo of the earth oceans from space.
Deborah stepped up for this challenge art quilt called "The Pollening 1". 2 will be a microscopic view of pollen. This fabric center was from a piece of jelly plate printed fabric. So perfect for this pollen project where she then used some decorative machine stitching to highlight the plant structure and leaves.
Gayle has found her Chapel Hill treasure again and may now continue to apply the hand embroidery embelishment. It's her bring along project that needs to stay out of the closet.
Ruth has these UFO rail fence blocks all done and ready for donation.
Next up for Ruth is an eye spy that has more cutting then she remembers for the last one. And requested some Christmas fabric scraps since she sent her entire stash of Holiday fabric up to the Bluff so she could work with it over the summer.
Carol whipped up this scrappy donation in no time at all. The tiny scraps in the shashing and border was a bit of a challenge with the seam allowances but it does look great!
