3/5/26: CCLQ at Maggie’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  Quilters met at Maggie’s and what a fun meeting! Featured below are some amazing quilts!!!!   Lots of laughs as you will understand as you read more on today’s blog. Today was also special in that several quilters left after the meeting to go to the “Art Feeds the Soul” Quilt Show in Elon, NC.

Candy’s UFO was made from green and black orphan blocks.  Candy was not so happy with this project.  We showed her the photo and everyone agreed this was a wonderful modern quilt!  Candy plans to add a border and later in the meeting Maggie brought out a couple of green fabrics that might work.  Stay tuned for next week to see the outcome!

Candy made some lovely potholders with Paula Nadelstern fabrics.

Maggie made some fun bowl cozies with bacon fabric and other fabrics.

This is Maggie’s UFO….WoW!  She plans to save it for her nephew’s graduation quilt.

One of today’s show stoppers! Maggie created this gorgeous quilt and Britt quilted it.

Cheryl finished piecing the back of the blue quilt. She’s also been working in the garden. Cheryl shared the following advice with us and the room rolled with laughter.

Carol brought a piece of fabric with a vintage 1950’s design .

Carol sewed up this amazing wonky log cabin scrappy quilt.

Britt displays another show stopper!!!!  This is a ten year old Big Dipper quilt. Britt has chosen a panto for quilting this one. Lynda said, “Can I have it?”

DeeDee bought this lovely linen/cotton panel and some Tilda fabrics at Quilt Con.  DeeDee counseled that if you find a UFO and don’t want to finish it, you can give it away. Orphan blocks are just blocks not UFO’s.

Lynda shared her purchases from Quilt Con. Lynda also reported that she started a quilt with a layer cake and made 42 blocks.  Britt helped Lynda put a design wall.

Deborah reported that she continues to make blocks with the Ocean View fabric.
Joy also shared a photo of the group at the Quilt Show.

Until next time, happy quilting!
