12/22/2022 CCLQ @ Lynda's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!

This week Lynda hosted the six of us with some Christmas cheer.

Carol has two tops done ready for quilting with just a few months to go before her new grand babies arrive,  One Boy and One Girl.

Ruth and Cheryl had no shows but shared some tells to keep the group entertained.

Linda's pattern from our meeting at Deborah's

Candy continues to make table toppers from her jellyroll.  Learning with each what thread colors she likes and dislikes for quilting.

Maggie had another baby donation top pieced from charms and scraps.

Lynda has been busy getting 30 or so blocks done from a layer cake to make the Color Weave quilt from the Best of Moda Bake Shop book.  Very interesting technique for making/cutting the blocks.

12/15/2022 CCLQ @ Gayle's

Welcome,  we had a lovely time at Gayle's with a lot of discussion and show-n-tell.

We started with Linda who had a number of items to show;  a pillow with the BTS Logo on the front and spoonflower band fabric on the back.  Then some very inventive fabric that says Save Me then when flipped over says I'm Fine both are songs by the band.  Amazing how that works.

Candy is making more table topper gifts and this one she used a zigzag stitch on her old Pfaff machine that sews like a dream with no skipped stitches.

Linda Mac is putting finishing embroidery stitches on her Sue Spargo blocks but really wanted to sew something so picked out this layer cake pattern to whip up.   Also she shared a National Geographic magazine article about Harriet Powers (1837 born enslaved - 1865 freed - 1886 praised for Bible Quilt - 1910 dies at 72 years).

Ruth is working on a Blooming Nine Patch from 2.5" squares.  And she brought along the panel she is hoping to get companion fabrics at Pineapple to make a baby quilt.

Ruth has finished the binding (take two) on the donation Bunny quilt.

Maggie got a pattern for a small drawstring bag that is to be used for Dungeon And Dragons dice.  The inside has 4 mesh pockets.   Great gift for Joe.  Pattern is from A Spoonful of Sugar designs

Deborah continues to stitch on her first round of the Kawanda technique

Gayle is jazzed and busy using her new long arm rulers under the bright lights.

Sorry no video of the machine running.

Until Next Week; Sew On!

DeeDee brought this bird fabric as a gift for Cheryl!

Cheryl is happy about receiving this gift and may use it as the backing fabric for her aunt’s birthday quilt.

Linda enjoyed the group today and shared that she is beginning to try some sewing while recovering from  a finger injury.
