Candy made a Donation Quilt using a pattern from Margaret:

She went with Joanna to the Pineapple SALE and got these fabrics:

Kirsten is making progress on her hubby's scarf.  It's made in the Official Carolina Blue:

She also has a TELL - Leaving for China 1 month from today!

Linda is HERE!!  (Sorry!  No Photo.)

Lynda had a TELL - She's quilting her Bubble Quilt and hopes to bring it to the next meeting.  (Sorry!  Photo Unavailable.)

Ruth B. had a TELL - The bathroom projects are DONE!  Only the painting remains and that's her job.

She found this panel @ Cary Quilting Company:

Here is a close-up of one of the funny sayings:

She also got a selection of black and white prints for Rachel's quilt:

Here's another batch:

Britt ( and Lynda) completed the top of Kit Kat's quilt:

Britt did the piecing and Lynda did the embroidery:

Britt completed the top of her 2nd Blooming 9-Patch quilt:

She also had a TELL - She's doing this year's Bot Garden quilt.  The North Carolina Wildflower of the Year for 2019 is the
Narrow-leaf Mountain-mint, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium.

Britt had another TELL - She is still finger painting with oils for instant gratification.  (Edited to add this photo taken by Joy on a recent visit.)  This is one of her incredible paintings:

Joy completed a mug rug set made from a scrap infusion at Ella's CCLQ meeting a couple of weeks ago:

She's also starting a new quilt with these pieces:

This is a phone photo of Britt's quilt of the same design:

Cheryl K. brought her Blooming 9-Patch for those who haven't seen it yet.  It's shown below with the border fabric from Pineapple:

Another Pineapple purchase:

Cheryl bought these fabrics, as well:

And these...

... And these are for a wedding quilt:

She also had a TELL - The quilt for her son and DIL is coming along.  It's whites and grays with a narrow red-orange border.  He wants MORE color!!  Cheryl is trying to figure out a way to make that happen.  She detailed a couple of ideas.

Dee Dee made something from her last Pineapple purchase.  Her cozy flannel robe.  She gave herself permission to buy more, but she left her new purchases at home.  Dee Dee bought 3 batiks for a Storm at Sea and she'll be making a Flower Block quilt for herself.  Here she is telling us all about it:

This is one of the Journals she's making from Art Fabrics:

The Original Works group will be doing a swap with another group.  This is another example:

A shibori dyed piece and one done with paint and stamps:

Carol unearthed some old blocks from 10 years ago and set them together to make this cozy looking quilt top:

She also had a TELL - There's ANOTHER set of blocks that has her wondering what she was thinking!

Helena pulled out her sewing machine and made a dog coat for her new dog, Frita:

Helena looks on as Margaret talks about her Door Prize Mug Rugs for the upcoming Umstead Trail Marathon:

A closer look at those Quilted Mug Rugs:

Here is Margaret showing off her "Retirement Quilt":

This is how big she THOUGHT the squares would be.  Alas, the tiny squares turned out to be a printed panel:

Thank you to Pineapple Fabrics!  They generously sent a box of wide WOF strips for our CCLQ and Nimble Thimbles donation quilt efforts...

... Along with some large chunks:

Margaret found a fun pattern to use:

The yardage included might be used for a quilt like this one:

If anyone knows the story on these fabrics, be sure to let Joy know so that she can add the information here:

Kirsten's friend's Van Gogh quilt called Stormy Night:

Margaret's Pineapple purchases:

But WAIT!!  There's more:

Ella showed up for a visit.  Happy Anniversary!!  Oops!  No photo.

Lunch was served early so that those going to the Pineapple SALE could be on there way.  Thanks for the great planning, Candy!

Until next time...

2/14/19: CCLQ at Margaret’s

Happy Valentines Day!  Eleven Cherry Creek Lane Quilters met at Margaret’s home.  Excitement was in the air as Ruth S shared a special chocolate candy with everyone and a group of quilters were eagerly awaiting their trip to Pineapple Fabrics after the meeting.

Gayle was busy sewing the binding on this awesome quilt which was a kit from Margaret.  It will hang in Gayle's new house!
Ruth S finished this lovely quilt top made from fabric from Ella's and pattern instructions courtesy of Joanna.

Ruth S had an important tell:  Savannah the Bernina is paid for!!!!

Ruth S is ready for a field trip!  She researched upcoming quilt shows. Take a look and see if you're interested in any of these shows.  Ruth encouraged the group to add to this list.

Ruth B and DeeDee made a trip to Cary for fun. Ruth was excited to share this black and white fabric she found at Cary Quilt Company. She plans to use this fabric to make a quilt for Steve.

DeeDee showed a flower block and reported that she made some more fabric covered art books.   DeeDee is interested in making a Storm at Sea quilt and wants to use a paper pieced pattern for this.

Candy finished gorgeous quilt top using the Swirly Girls pattern.

Margaret made several mug rugs for the upcoming Umstead Trail Marathon. Her son is running in this race and the mug rugs will be door prizes.

Close up of mug rug...cool fabric Margaret!

Margaret is coordinating the "quilt as you go" donation quilt and was eager to sew a few blocks together.  The fabric was donated by Pineapple Fabrics.

Margaret made this quilt top from a Hancock's of Paducah  kit.

Margaret's beautiful Blooming Nine Patch is done!

Close up of the back of Margaret's BNP. Splendid spiral quilting!

Jean made a lovely bag out of her embroidered flamingo sample piece. Jean reported that she plans to make a Victorian Christmas Quilt.

Cheryl completed this lovely BQ2 quilt top and back from Ella's fabric.

Here's the back.  Nice work Cheryl.

Joanna's terrific Trip Around the World quilt from Ella's fabric is almost complete.  She quilted it and is sewing the binding!

Joanna gave the group a demo on how to make half square triangles using the Thangles paper.

Close up of this nifty method

Lynda reported that she is almost finished quilting the bubbles on her bubble quilt.

Joanna had some wonderful Guatemalan fabric to give away and Lynda was the lucky recipient.
Deborah continues to work on her Blooming Nine Patch. Soon she'll need a bigger design wall!

Deborah shared a photo of a Fat Sack that she made for a gift.

Can't wait until next week to see what the Pineapple Fabric shoppers found.

Until next time,  when it rains....sew something!
