Welcome to this month's meeting of the Nimble Thimble Night Bee!!  Joy came prepared for battle:

Tackling the interfacing is more fun with friends!!  :o))

LOOK!!  The library had a display of paper "quilts"...

One near the Children's Librarian:

And, not one...

... But, TWO near the stacks:

Margaret brought a quilt to bind:

Seven quilters arrived in dribs and drabs.  Here's the entire group, as I made my way to sign the form for the meeting room:

Leslie and Bo came for a shot of inspiration:

Jill was hiding behind this quilt...

... And making faces at the camera:

Victoria brought a bunch of fabrics.  Some are NEW and some are OLD:

ALL  will go into the quilt that one of her daughters announced that the family NEEDS for the couch:

Carol is working on a hand-quilting project:

Margaret brought a completed quilt top...

... Or TWO:

Joy FINALLY finished the top of S's T-Quilt:

Margaret is working on the binding of THIS quilt that Cheryl B. quilted:

Oh!  Here's Carol!!  She's happily stitching away:

Victoria also brought along a knitting project:

That's it for April's meeting, but (since Joy had to deliver something to Bo before post time) here's a sneak peek at Margaret's Music Quilt being quilted on Bo's longarm:

Until next time...

Welcome to Day Two of the CCLQ Shop Hop Trip!!  Everyone appears to be having a good time. Unfortunately, it's a rainy day and Dee Dee may be feeling the barometric pressure.  Thanks for sending the picture, Ella!!  (Now, the rest of us are REALLY jealous.)

4/21/16 - CCLQ Shop Hop Trip

Welcome to today's meeting of the CCLQ bee!!  Today's meeting went something like this:

1. Shop Hoppers met at Dee Dee's.

2. Overnight Bags were loaded into cars.

3. Drive, shop, repeat!!

Here's hoping that our shoppers had a wonderful time and a safe trip home in Friday's rainy muck.

The rest of us stayed home to work on our various projects in the comfort of our very own sewing rooms.  We will look forward to hearing the stories and seeing the purchases next week at Candy's.

Until next time...
Shop til you drop!!!

4/14/16 - CCLQ Rerun @ Ruth B's

Welcome to the CCLQ Rerun Meeting!!  Due to a scheduling conflict, today's meeting was held at Ruth B's house for the second week in a row.  Thank you, Ruth!!!  Seven members were present, including our returned travelers, Candy and Dee Dee.  Special thanks to Ruth for opening her home to us a second time in as many weeks!!  Thank you to those who brought coffee and treats. Dee Dee got us caffeinated, while Joanna and Joy made sure that our collective sweet tooth was satisfied.

There was a LOT of pre-showandtell chatter, but once that was done, the projects came out to play!!

Show and Tell...

Dee Dee was inspired by Ella's completed quilt and has hers up on the design wall:

Ella showed off Barry's Barn Quilt, inspired by the one at Dee Dee's house:

Dee Dee brought us all bookmarks from her trip:

Candy is crocheting a toy for her granddaughter:

You'll have to ask her about these little pieces:

Dee Dee finished her block for our Group Donation Quilt:

She had a lovely pattern to show:

Joanna was working with some small fabric pieces:

Ella brought out the tea pot applique:

Ruth S. was excited to begin work:

Ruth B. prepared to share her progress:

Oh, no!!  Ruth S. lost her head in this needle-threading shot:

Dee Dee won a drawing at The Wonky Press:

Oh, good!  Ruth B. kept her head and got to work on binding the Bluff Surprise Quilt:

Joanna made a lovely LARGE bag out of the bottom...

... and top of the Hoffman Skylines Cityscape fabric that she purchased some time back:

More layout choices for Dee Dee's quilt pattern:

Oh, LOOK!!  Ruth B's appliqued house grew some bushes:

Joy worked on cutting more T-shirts:

Ruth B. got a new Bose Bluetooth Radio for the kitchen:

Joanna quilted the CCLQ Surprise Quilt:

Thanks, Joanna!!  The big swirls work perfectly:

Ruth S. showed off the Mug Rug that she is working on:

The "lunch alert" went off and we ALL headed off to Pueblo Viejo for a delicious Mexican lunch and were pleased that Britt was able to join us today.  :o))

4/7/16 - CCLQ @ Ruth B's

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  This week's meeting was held at Ruth B's house.  There were 6 members in attendance and we were all lucky enough to meet Ruth's son (most of us for the first time) who was visiting.  He went off to some appointments and we proceeded with our regular meeting.

You know what THAT means, don't you?!?!?

Coffee, baked treats, and...

SHOW AND TELL!!!

Ella took Dee Dee's pattern, made it her own, AND quilted it herself:

Way to go, Ella!!  Jacquie Gering's techniques really worked for you:

Joanna appears to be having fun with a challenge set by Joy.  Bias binding. Need I say more?

Here's a better look at Ella's quilting:

After showing off her quilt, she set to work on her applique:

Ruth S. stitched on a Crazy Quilt block:

Deborah was busy cutting scraps for her Wonky Star blocks:

Ruth B. waited, coffee in hand, for her turn to share:

Apparently, Joy's binding project finally sent Joanna around the bend or she was just wrapped up in her work... You decide!  Either way, she looks happy to have been able to help a friend:

Or two...  Since Ella had passed along a ruler for Joanna to figure out:

The engineer in her won't accept defeat...

... and she showed Ella the sizing issue and the correct side of the ruler for this piece:

Ruth B. did some work on her applique project...

... While Joanna did some cutting:

Joy showed the completed "S" block that turned out just as she hoped...

... And worked on trimming up MORE t-shirts from this overstuffed bag:

File photo to show the vastness of the project!

Look at how much progress Deborah made during the meeting:

THIS is the Crazy Quilt that Ruth S. was working on:

And HERE is Ruth B's applique project:

Smile, Ruth!!

Since we were on the Durham side of town, 5 of us headed off to Bennett Pointe Grille.  YUM!!  So sorry that Ruth B. couldn't join us.  Here's hoping that you enjoyed lunch with your son.

Until next time...
Just keep quilting!!!
