6/25 /19 - NT Nights @ Passmore Center

Welcome to the June EOM meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee!!  I believe the months seem to be passing faster since we added a mid-month meeting.  Do YOU feel that way, too?

It's summer, but we meet year round.  If you can come, do.  If not, the ones who attend will miss you.  Tonight there were 6 members in attendance.  Not a bad turn out!!

Margaret brought a Donation Quilt to baste:

She shared the last quilt basted at an NT Nights meeting:

Margaret quilted it herself:

Attendees weighed in on binding options:

The photo below shows the backing fabric, too:

6/20/19 - CCLQ in the Wild @ Pineapple Fabrics

Welcome to a new edition of CCLQ in the Wild!!  It's been quite some time since members have been spotted out in the wilds of the quilt world.  Reports came in from Pineapple Fabrics where quilters from all over tried to camouflage our members in the fabric stacks.

Here's how things went down...

Three cars of quilters made the trip to Archdale on Thursday, in lieu of our regular meeting.

Car One:  Barry, Ella, and Debby
Car Two:  Dee Dee, Margaret, Britt, and Joy
Car Three: Linda, Candy, Ruth B., and Gayle

As the CCLQ members (and guests) arrived, shopping ensued...

Ella and Dee Dee dig for treasure on the "Pound Tables":

Margaret looks happy to have found this stripey print:

Oh, goodness!  That's QUITE the armful, Britt:

Joy spotted a 6 FQ Bag made of only 2 fabrics:

Get a load of this backpack:

Here's a closer look at the bag made completely of selvedges:

We even got a glimpse of our honorary CCLQ member, Diane:

Margaret chats with another Fabric Hunter in line:

Oh!  What a line it was!  It wrapped around the corner:

Margaret shared a photo of her Look Kevin, I Can Do Scrappy quilt assembled last week at the lake:

She also put together another Donation Quilt:

Dee Dee looks really pleased with her purchases:

Someone bought 5 pounds of fabric.  That would be Joy:

She got exactly what she came for...  And only TWO pieces extra:

Waiting for the last of our shoppers:

Oh!  Here is one of the bags Ella recently made:

Barry was busy taking pictures:

Gayle gives a thumbs up!  Beemates scored a parking place:

Oh, LOOK!!  Bolts of Amish Black fabric:

Candy was feeling like a thief after the cashier told he to go choose another Jelly Roll, as they were on sale BOGO:

Donation fabric request and proof of use and proper credit given:

Sorting through Donation Bag Number One:

All shopped out, the quilters did lunch...

... At this yummy local Mexican Restaurant:

On the way home, Britt sorted through the second Donation Bag:

Thank you, Pineapple Fabrics, for supporting our local Donation Quilt efforts!!  We all enjoyed our field trip to shop your SALE.

Yes.  A good time was had by all.  Well, except for the drivers!!  We drove into a thunderstorm on the way home.  :o((

Until next time...

6/13/19 - CCLQ @ Candy's

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  A small group met at Candy's house this week.  There were only SIX (6) members in attendance!  Between members being out of own, members having out-of-town guests, and still others being "under the weather", that's all there were.  Three less than average and only HALF of our new norm!

Notes, photos. and a morning snack were provided by our beautiful hostess.  Thank you, Candy!

Joanna didn't have anything to show because she is getting ready for her trip to the Pacific Northwest:

Sorry!  No photo available.  :o((

Ella made not, one...

... But TWO new bags:

She used the Crossbody Bag tutorial from Shabby Fabrics, if YOU would like to give it a try.  (I know that I want to!!)
Linda has begun the countdown to retirement:

DeeDee reminded us that we are going to Pineapple Fabrics in place of next week's meeting.  Linda will coordinate carpools.  Also, DeeDee has made a switch with Gayle.

PLEASE NOTE:  6/27/19 CCLQ meeting will be @ DeeDee's!!!!

also...
AQS Charleston will be 9/26 & 27!!

Ruth B. completed her "Ella" quilt:

Candy is nearly finished with her Unicorn quilt!  She is working on hand sewing the facing down:

Until next time...
Visit when you are able!!!

6/11/19 - NT Nights @ Passmore Center

Welcome to another meeting of the NT Nights Quilt Bee!!  Slim crowd for this one.  All the others were missing for a variety of reasons.

SEW...

Quilting.  Party of three.

Troika!  That's Russian for group of three.  We learn something new every day.  I learned that from my favorite puzzle game.  :o))

Joy brought the completed BQG1, along with the quilted BQG2.  In the photo below, if you look carefully, you can see the slightly different quilting pattern she used on each of the quilts:

Carol did some cutting for a new special secret gift quilt:

Once Joy was finished squaring up BQG2, she made binding for the donation quilt using strips that were cut and donated by Britt:

Kirsten spent the evening winding embroidery floss onto cards:

Here is her (astonishingly intricate!) new project using 200+ colors:

With time remaining, Joy decided to apply the binding to BQG2:

This is how much Kirsten got finished...

... And how much remains:

Until next time...
