10/22/20 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE

Welcome to the weekly (virtual) meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilt Bee!!  Thank you to Deborah for scheduling today's online gathering.  Thanks go out to Candy who served as our hostess this morning.  Eight members and one guest (honorary member?) enjoyed sharing the projects they have on the go.

Upcoming Events...

Next week's meeting (10/29) will be LIVE and IN-PERSON at Ella's house!!!  Weather permitting, as we will be outside.  Please bring your most comfortable face mask, a drink, your chair, and lunch.

Show and Tell...

Joy: 


showed her beautiful fall leaves quilt. 


  Finished a lovely yellow basket. 


  Joy is making pin cushions with left over corners of her quilted baskets.


Finished her first charm square quilt and has started another charm square quilt.


Finished the Carpe Nap quilt and sent it off. 


Shared Maggie’s donation quilt which was on the frame.


Deborah: shared that Ruth S sent a text to say they arrived safely last night. Ruth can’t wait to see everyone next week!


 Finished two Halloween baskets for grandkids.  


Working on a stuffed Halloween cat to go with the baskets


 using this medical device.


 Plans to make a table runner with Halloween charm pack.




Carol: 


working on a quilt for grandkids with pluses and O’s using Christmas fabric.


 Shabby Fabrics had a tutorial on Christmas ornaments.


  Making beautiful  3D fabric balls and working on finishing a Christmas tree skirt.



Lynda: 


Finishing binding on lovely blue, yellow and white quilt.  


Will bring next week to Ella’s (weather permitting.)


  Finished elephant wall hanging. Making Christmas aprons for grandkids.




DeeDee: 


Showed a gorgeous black and white quilt.
 

Dee Dee sent some better photos of the gorgeous bargello quilt.


 It's made of musical themed fabric.


Suzan quilted it with music notes.


Showed a bag of scraps for Joy. 


Created a lovely mixed media picture with a bird stencil and may print it on fabric.




Britt:  quilted a big donation quilt and needs to do binding.  Use a free hand swirl design.


 Has been painting landscapes with water colors. Planning to make more woven rug.




Ella and Debbie ( special guest!)
Debbie is getting her sewing room organized.  Researching how to store her fabrics.


Ella: put up her fall quilts. 


Found fabrics from the fall quilt ( from 16 years ago) to make a coordinating table runner!  Found backing for donation quilts.


Barry stopped by the sewing room to say hello.



Candy: Finished binding on donation quilt for Joanna. 


Mailed Halloween wall hanging to grandkids. 


Showed a cool table runner that she made a few years ago from a Deb Tucker workshop. Used a Tri-Rex ruler. Plans to use that technique to make a baby quilt.

10/15/20 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  Today there were 9 members present.  Thank you to Deborah for scheduling our meeting and took notes.  Thanks also go out to Joy, who filled in for Cheryl K., who was listed as the group's hostess for the meeting.

Show and Tell...

Ruth S:  getting ready to come to NC. Finishing baby quilt:





Linda: Enjoying retirement. Looking forward to going to Pineapple Fabrics with Candy.



Deb:  block of the month and slow moving Storm at Sea




Candy : Cute Halloween wall hanging for grandkids. Has 2 quilts waiting to be bound. Finished donation quilt for Joy.






Ella: started donation quilt made from the group’s twisted four patch blocks. Finished a quilt top with fabric from Kansas.






DeeDee : shared Harbor’s parents‘ gorgeous  quilt.







Maggie : adventure yesterday to Sanford and Find x Designs and Pittsboro to French Connections.Found kitty fabric and other fabrics too.
Started a Christmas table runner with Pineapple Fabrics. Making a Dresden plate tree skirt.














Ruth B:  took her BW quilt to Joy For long arm quilting. Working on a new project of sorting photos.



Carol :  finished QAYG bird quilt. Used Leah Day method. Making Halloween bags for grandkids.






Joy:  made a yellow basket panel. For her birthday treated herself to some Craftsy classes. Took fabric play with Susie Williams.

Special thanks to Deborah, who typed up today's notes on her cell phone.  I'm not sure WHY she didn't have access to her iPad today, but I certainly appreciate her going above and beyond the call of duty!
