4/6/23: CCLQ at Ruth B’s

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting. This week the quilters met at Ruth’s B’s home.

Everyone loved seeing Ruth’s beautiful “Twirling In Reverse” quilt displayed upon her wall.

Look who found a cozy spot!

Candy reported that she’s busy preparing for the move next week.

Lynda reported that she finished the house quilt and it’s already displayed on the wall.  She wants to make another house quilt and found a pattern in the above book.
Here’s a photo of the pattern and Lynda plans to make a table runner. Now to find some colorful fabrics!

Linda purchased a couple of quilting books.

Last week, DeeDee shared a Connecting Threads Catalog  and Linda just had to purchase this colorful fabric and more fabric to be revealed at the next meeting.

Gayle shared this adorable Flower Pot quilt that she finished.

Close up of Gayle’s awesome machine quilting!

Back view of Gayle’s quilt.

Cheryl is back from her travels and a wonderful visit with her new grandson!

DeeDee has been busy creating a lovely water feature in her yard.

DeeDee has almost finished the llama quilt top and has been busy working in the yard.

Carol completed this colorful donation quilt. Carol was inspired by a recent DOQ speaker and plans to make a  Temperature Quilt for the birth year of her grandchildren.

Deborah has been busy rearranging and cleaning up her sewing space.

Until next time… DeeDee’s teachers (quilter’s) mantra:  Support, Encourage, and Inspire!

4/13/2023 CCLQ hosted by Linda

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the
Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

The group was hosted by Linda at the Passmore Center.

Maggie started off showing her version of the Melodic Mystery with the additional brown border.  As well as the boxed stars that was made with the charm cutting oops mistake from making the mystery.

Deedee continues to bind this batik wonder but didn't want to show it again.  Both She and Linda M. have been busy with gardens.

Ruth is clearing the sewing room of a number of donation tops and quilts.

This back is going to be pinned to the French Connection charms top that follows.  The plan is to hang it up the stairs in the NC home.

Gayle found some finished blocks and decided it was ready to put together and quilt.  Will make someone very happy when they receive this donation quilt.

Carol continues with the brights by doing a multi color binding.  Photo doesn't show too well the sweet little dots on the back.  Finally she has a panel with stars and tulips that match up with her 6 grandchildren.

Linda H. has been a busy sewer and made the same layer cake pattern that Lynda M. made a month or so back (don't recall the name).  But she like it so much and had another layer cake in batiks so she did another one ... the black really makes the colors pop.

That's all for now ... until next week.

And we enjoy to quilt and spread the joy with donations and gifts of our quilts.

3/30/2023 CCLQ @ Deedee's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the

Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

The group met at Deedee's and got a sneak peak at new plantings and a new water feature in the garden.  As we moved inside a few new (and not so new) decorations caught this bloggers eye.

Ella was able to join us and showed two donation quilts one ready for the longarm and the other ready for distribution.

Ruth S. also has a baby donation top sporting Newton panel blocks in a lime twist setting.  Also she finished putting together the Charm pack she got at the French Connection in Pittsboro.

Candy is zipping along on the Modern Lace quilt having done the blocks.  She reports the pattern directions are very well written.

Maggie took on the challenge from Tanya of the Tuesday Group to do something with the 5 and a partial square blocks. Finished the 1/2 block with some very similar framing fabric then made the 6 star blocks.  Also showed a 1930's fabric baby quilt and a new block that uses mini-charms and half square triangles.

Carol's football Donation will really make some young boy very happy.  The quilting by Stacy W. really stands out.  Following that she had two more donations a very calm lap quilt and a lively crumb quilt that is just a fabulous original diamond columns design.

Lynda is just thrilled with Britt's quilting of her layer cake quilt ... isn't the back just as wonderful as the front?

Deborah found just the right borders to frame this panel to donate as a Bunkbed quilt  (54" x 72")

Deedee showed a donation quilt where the missplaced row ended up on the back.  Next she shared two great finds she got at the Graham Hospice Thrift store.  An oh so soft feedsack tied quilt and an elusive print of "The Quilting Bee" she has been looking for for a long time.

Sew On Quilters till next week!
