10/12/19 - NT @ Ella's

Welcome to the October meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee!!  This month, we were hosted by Ella.

We started off with a small group. Only SIX members were gathered when the editor arrived.  Then came one and another member.  Ultimately, NINE quilters were in attendance.

Here is what everyone brought to share...

Candy was working on binding Barry's quilt:

Someone had a birthday yesterday:

The Junior Quilter visited with us today:

She also shared three Christmas stockings:

And her Guild Challenge M for Mosaic in progress:

Linda - Great niece is having a baby and she made a quick woodsy themed quilt:

Lynda - She's going forward with her big project.  Her current block is a Fig Tree with bats hanging upside down:

... And FRONT of Linda's speedy Baby Quilt:

The Junior Quilt modeled "Miss Goy's" fabric scraps:

Britt - A Wide Open pouch and a quilted basket for her Mom:

Lynda received notification of Sue Spargo's side borders:

Britt also made a Wide Open pouch for herself based on measurements from a friend's bag.  The friend talked her thru the extended zipper, which Britt hadn't done before:

Helena - TELL - After 2 years in her "new" house, she has finally set up a sewing space in her room!!!  She's going to transform a table into half cutting and half pressing space based on an idea from BlogLand that Joy shared with her.

TELL - It's snowing in Minniapolis (and she was there for a visit just last month!)

Kirsten - Seminole Mountain quilt top, sans borders.  She made all of the border units at the "Bluff South" Retreat.  (Joy kept calling it the wrong thing!!!)

Those units haven't yet been sewn into borders...

Thus, the borders still need to be applied:

Ella had a stack of scraps for Joy:

Thank you to Dee Dee for the Birthday Charm Pack:

This is the quilt that Candy was working on binding for Barry:

Dee Dee presented this Star Wars gift quilt:

It's anyone's best guess on the story behind the photo of this adorable scrappy quilt:

The Junior Quilter enjoyed lunch with the Quilt Ladies:

Britt - TELL - Husband made a bed frame from a piece of wood they bought last Christmas.  Based on the photo she just received, it is going together today.

TELL - Her MIL is coming for a visit this week.

Until next time...
Quilt, eat, repeat!!!

10/10/19: CCLQ at Candy's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week eight quilters plus our junior quilter met at Candy's house. Folks returned from travels and the Mountain Retreat so lots of fun show and tell.
Candy sewed this lovely Kindle case.
Candy's cutting board was ready with these pieces for a new quilt.
Here's the beginning for Candy's new Pecking Order quilt.
DeeDee shared one of the blocks for a "big boy" quilt she is making for a young friend.

DeeDee has started a Christmas table runner.

Linda H reported that she finished the baby quilt for her niece and added borders to the Virginia quilt.

Ella shared this adorable label for her great great niece's baby.  Jean created the embroidered label.
Ella modified the grocery bag pattern and created a new bag with wider handles.
Maggie returned from the Mountain Retreat with a new Quilt As You Go project.
Maggie is working on a Kaleidoscope Quilt.  These were her trial blocks.

These are the soft color tones Maggie will use for her Kaleidoscope Quilt.
Maggie found this Lewis and Clark UFO quilt and put it together in the mountains.
Here's another project from Maggie.  It's a really cute baby quilt using the DASH pattern.
Maggie made this quilted "Welcome" wall hanging for the mountain cabin.
Carol used the Quilt As You Go method for this wonderful log cabin quilt for her son.
Here's Carol showing the front folded over the back of this lovely quilt.
Carol is happy to be almost finished with this colorful Christmas table runner.

Deborah added a ribbon border to the Dream Catcher baby quilt for her niece.
The ribbon border was pretty easy to do!
Joy finished three Christmas stockings...here's number 1....
stocking number 2 and....
stocking number 3!
All three of Joy's colorful stockings!
Joy made a lovely yellow scrap basket.
Joy was thrilled to receive lots of scraps at the mountain retreat.
Joy used a similar block of yellow scraps to make her scrap basket.

Until next time,  happy quilting!
