Nimble Thimbles: November 2019

Welcome to the Early November meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Nights Quilt Bee!!! Seven members gathered at the Passmore Center for an evening of stitching fun.

Welcome to the November meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee!! This month we were hosted by Britt. Thank you for opening your spacious home to the group. We had a record setting 15 members in attendance! Thanks to everyone who contributed toward our delicious lunch.

Of course, we had a number of conversations going on at once, as members arrived in dribs and drabs...

... Various members took time to catch up with one another...

TELL: She is collecting patterns for DH's Halloween tree.

Gayle shared her latest collection of gelli prints:

Gayle now uses her gelli prints on canvas as backgrounds for her painting and stamping:

TELL: She is excited to have signed up for a year of Personal Art Coaching. Plus, she is working on 2 quilts using her gelli prints.

PLEASE NOTE that the date has been changed and our Holiday Potluck will be held on Saturday, December 14th at Carol's house:

Lynda brought a pattern (ice skate applique) to share and the fabrics she collected, which will now be made into Table Runners:

TELL: She's making progress on her BIG Sue Spargo project and is working on 8 of the 9 blocks. Information has been released regarding ALL of the borders. They will be a scattering of leaves (from the depicted trees) on gray wool.

Her TELL: She is officially signed up for Medicare AND there are only 133 working days until retirement!!

Jean had a TELL: Victorian Christmas was up, then fell down, and is now hung with sturdier hooks. It was made of 37 machine embroidered blocks done on linen. There are 1,050,000 stitches. One million, fifty thousand!!! It was quilted by Suzanne De Serres of Singing Stitches and used 1200 yards of thread! She will enter it in a contest offered by her linen supplier.

Ruth S. considered McKenna Ryan's Fish pattern, for her son, but found McKenna's fish print instead:
