News to Note!!!

Please check THIS post for updates!!!  (From NT @ Joy's)

Calendar updates.

1/21/17 - Family House UFO Sew Day (Helena will host.)

2/18/17 - NT @ Britt's

3/18/17 - NT @ Candy's

April 2017 - NT @ Ruth B. (TBD)

5/20/17 - NT @ Dee Dee's (tent.)

TELL updates.

Candy went on a road trip (with Linda) to Cary Quilt Company and Linderella's Quilt Shop.

Congrats! to Carol's son who got married yesterday!!  (11/26/16)  Carol and the bride's mother planned the wedding in TWO WEEKS (since everyone would be home for Thanksgiving, anyway!!)

Dee Dee has chosen a quilting pattern for her completed quilt top (from Hampton Bus Trip 2010!)

Dee Dee is also cleaning out her studio.  (Including the THREE bags of scraps that she brought to the meeting for Joy.  Thanks, Dee Dee!!!)  She determined that she has 17 UFOs minus donations equals 12 (which isn't bad, IMO.)

Helena was sad to report that her dog has gone missing. (Come back, Tilly!!!)

Linda purchased a new sofa and chair.  She also heard that there is another quilt shop in Wake Forest, but didn't have details.

Event updates.

Britt posed a replacement for our annual Mary Jo's Trip.  She suggested a Shop Hop and someone else (Linda) suggested a Retreat.  Either could be instead of OR in addition to our regular meeting for the month March or April.  Think about it!!

Editor's apology.

Sorry for not checking the notes BEFORE posting the notes.  I hope you all can forgive my oversight.

Until next time...

11/19/16 - NT @ Joy's

Welcome to the November meeting of the Nimble Thimbles Quilt Bee!!  We were at Joy's house this month.  The coffee and hot water were ready when the quilters arrived.  (No treats because this is a lunch meeting.)

Much chatting...

... Was followed by Show and Tell...

Britt started us off with THIS beauty:

Next came Ruth S. with this interesting piece of work...

... Along with her Bluff Quilt:

She also finished a Quilted Purse over the summer:

Ruth explained that there is something hidden in the trees:

Candy made some pillowcases:

Excuse me while I take a closer look at Ruth S's quilt:

Oh. wait!  Candy is showing Lilly's Learning Quilt and trying to determine what comes next:

THIS is a close-up of Ruth B's blocks:

Helena brought a selection of fabrics purchased at the Diane Sale...

... A couple of books and a pattern also followed her home.  The fabrics?  They are meant to go with THIS piece of fabric from her stash to make a quilt for HER:

Joy was hungry and the chili was ready, so the quilters cleaned up their quilty stuff and went in for lunch.  Special thanks to Carol for saying it would be "fine no matter what" and to Candy for spicing up the chili.

NOTE:  DO NOT choose the Italian Tomatoes when making chili!!  Oops!!  Slight error.  Joy never claimed to be a chef.

Until next time...
Keep Quilting!!!

EVERYONE (except Jean) went for lunch at Rasa.  A few of us tried something different this time (and were moderately disappointed.)  We wondered if someone else was cooking today. Although, the soup was delicious, as always!
