Candy worked on a knitting project, too:

Gayle found a pattern (and fabric) for these decorative ornaments:

Jean shared a photo of the quilt she is working on.  It's off the design wall being sewn now:

She also shared photos of Jamie's gift pillow:

Ruth S. helped with the construction of the back:

Here's Jean, digging in her bag on knitting needles:

Ruth B. brought a small baggie of scraps for Joy.  Thanks, Ruth!!:

No SHOW for Gayle today, but she won't be joining us for lunch, as she will be helping her DH get the water out down in their flooded basement.  Not sure I'd be smiling!!:

Ella had no SHOW, but her TELL today was that Linda left VA too late to join us for lunch.  :o((

Ruth S. had a TELL, but it was about the Patriotic Quilt that she left at home:

We missed catching up with Cheryl K. and Linda, but hope to see them next week.  Eight of us enjoyed lunch at AnnaMaria's Pizza in Carrboro.  We know where Gayle was, but I don't recall where Jean took herself off to.  Oh, well... We'll see her again next week, too!

Until next time...

12/17/15 - CCLQ Holiday Pot Luck @ Ella's

Welcome to the HOLIDAY EDITION of Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  This week's meeting/party was held at Ella's house.  She made 2 soups and the rest of us brought treats to round out the meal.  There were 11 quilters in attendance to enjoy the festivities.

But first...

We got down to the business of working on our projects!!!

Gayle got surprised by something being said (as she worked on her hexie project):

Dee Dee did some applique:

Deborah cast on a new knitting project:

What's THIS?!?!?!

Ruth S. prepared to do some stitching on one of her Bluff blocks:

Happy Birthday, Cheryl K:

Ruth B. did some more embroidery on her applique blocks:

Ella had a SHOW... from way back in her Kansas days:

Jean pinned some of her "coping strips":

Ella requested a border consult... narrow?

Wider?

Colors reversed?

Joanna prepared a Piped Binding sample for Ella, using some of Joy's scraps:

Candy shared a completed Donation quilt top (that she bordered):

Joy trimmed some of her scraps:

Here's the sample, with the appropriate measurements:

Ruth B. is adding some detailing to her flower blocks:

Cheryl K. worked on "un-sewing" some coasters that she made... incorrectly:

Jean shared a craft idea that she found (and subsequently made for her DH):

Joanna wondered why one of her quilts was hanging lower than it should... and brought the offending (un-sewn) tabs for completion.  Oops!  Apparently, she was anxious to hang the quilt:

Candy brought a pattern and fabrics that she purchased in Lancaster:

HERE is a closer look at the pattern:

Jean got busy stitching down the "coping strips" that she pinned at the beginning of the meeting:

Done with casting on, Deborah joined her project "in the round":
