6/23/22: CCLQ at Candy’s

Thanks to Candy for hosting this week’s meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters and for taking photos to share on the blog!

Carol shares an amazing scrap quilt.

Candy added navy couching for a tiny border effect on this child’s quilt for Ukraine.

DeeDee shared this sweet baby quilt.

Lynda shared her lovely purchases from Pineapple Fabrics.  She and Britt traveled  to Archdale for the big sale.

Looks like two fat quarter packs and a free pattern!

Until next week, happy quilting!

6/16/22: CCLQ at Carol’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week the group met at Carol’s. Candy may have started a new tradition of sharing fabric!  This week DeeDee brought a load of fabric and other sewing notions to share with the group!  Sorry I missed taking photos of the two vintage quilt tops that DeeDee rescued and wanted to find a new home for.

Here’s the table full of wonderful fabric and notions DeeDee shared with the group.
Carol showed this delightful bug quilt made for her granddaughter.

Take a look at Cheryl B’s amazing quilting including Trapunto detail on the bugs!

Another view of this stunning quilt…what a treasure!
Carol finished this lovely donation quilt.

Carol made this whimsical pillow from the face quilt she created as part of the  Freddy Moran challenge.

Lynda is loving working in the garden.  She planted several plants to attract hummingbirds and her husband looks forward to capturing some photographs of the hummers in the backyard.

Deborah is happy to nearly be finished with the Atmospheric Quilt.  The binding is sewn and waiting to be completed by hand. Suzan Deserres from Singing Stitches quilted this using the serendipity design.

Linda has made good progress on the BTS quilt. Her daughter helped with drafting the angles for this pattern.

Candy finished this lovely child’s quilt for Ukraine. If other’s want to make more quilts for Ukraine, let Candy know as she’ll be collecting more quilts.

Ruth B finished the top of this pretty donation quilt.

Until next week….we’re all wishing Maggie a speedy recovery!

6/9/22: CCLQ at Ruth B’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the group met at Ruth B’s home. The group discussed the upcoming shop hop and the Pineapple Fabrics sale and agreed going to Pineapple on a Friday would be better than a Thursday. No decisions were made about the shop hop.

Ella shared a wonderful new project using batik strips.

Gayle finished an adorable baby quilt.

Gayle used the batik fabric for backing from Candy’s fabric give away last week.
Here’s another sweet baby quilt Gayle finished .

Gayle was so excited to share her finished fabulous Hunter’s Star commission quilt!

Lynda reported that she was back in her sewing room working on the flannel quilt.  She’s also been working hard in the garden!

Linda H showed a photo of a BTS logo quilt that she’s working on.

Linda found some a plastic grid that she’ll use to draft the pattern for this quilt.

After two years, the Durham Public Schools hosted a Retirement Party for retirees!  Linda received this plaque and enjoyed seeing her colleagues again.

Ruth B is working on a hexagon donation quilt.

Ruth showed this lovely pottery mug that was made by her nephew’s wife.

Here’s a photo of Cheryl’s wonderful Hunter’s Star quilt. She had finished making all the blocks for this king sized quilt for her friend!

Cheryl brought some of the Hunter’s Star blocks to show.

Carol has finished this colorful quilt top for her grandson’s middle school graduation gift. The center blocks have  guitars as he loves playing the guitar.

Candy reported that she’s making a child’s quilt for Ukraine. Candy sent a friend a quilted bag made by someone in the group.  The bag came in handy for holding her phone charger and other items. Sorry I didn’t get a photo of the bag…the group thinks that Joy made the bag.

Deborah reported that she’s working on the binding for the Atmospheric Quilt.

Until next time, happy quilting!

6/2/2022 CCLQ @ Gayle's

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!

We had a treat seeing all the creative quilts and paintings Gayle has on display in her home.

Candy offered up a bunch of fabric, books, and notions for the taking.  Needless to say she went away with an almost empty bag.  Then she showed two pieced donation tops that are ready for quilting.

Carol also had 2 donation tops ready and finished binding on a colorful tessallating log cabinish quilt.
As a surprise she told us of her new Bernina Embroidery machine and a sample of her getting use to it.

Gayle showed the completed table cloth/summer quilt that was made from her jelly print fabrics.  Then she showed a traditional pattern with fabrics that are not her typical palette.

Maggie showed 2 completed donation small quilts.  One even had an After Quilt on the back.

Deborah showed the Completed Doll with a full outfit ready for her Grand daughter.

Dee Dee showed a charm donation top and a much loved woven handbag that is going to be deconstructed and repurposed.

We had a brief facetime call with Ruth and she showed us what she is working on.

Have a great week ... until next time.
