11/18/21 CCLQ @ Cheryl's

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!

Thanks to both Cheryl K. and Ruth S. for hosting us among the falling leaves.  The size of some of the leaves was almost as impressive as the show and tell.

Show and Tell...

Carol told us all about her Son's wedding ... wonderful and joyous.  The smocked dress she made for her Granddaughter was a success.  She continues to enjoy smocking and is looking for some embroidery stitches made specifically for smocked fabric.

Ruth B. is going to use this pattern for some of her strips to make a baby quilt.

Maggie finished piecing some of the borders on this panel.  Thinking of adding more of the purple as another border to contain riot of color of the squares.

Ruth B. showed us some of her gifts for family when she heads to Boston.  Very excited to see everyone and meet some new members of the family.

Linda H. is super excited about her trip to west coast to see her very favorite band DKB.

Cheryl is doing well and finished her Butterfly quilt.  She used a serpentine stitch to emulate free motion stippling on the blue block borders... very cool.

Lynda Mac. told about her daughter buying a new house in Mebane. Congrats Marilee!

Candy told us of her Daughter's wedding celebration and reception which showcased the performer potential of both her grandchildren.
She also showed us how the triangle borders came out.

We got to see Cheryl's new sewing table.
Not sure if she is happy with it .... what do you think from the smile?

It even came with a new sewing friend "Joey".

Until Next Time!

11/11/21 CCLQ @ Candy's

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!

Thank you to Candy for hosting us indoors!

Show and Tell...

Lynda Mac finished her Carpenter Star quilt that is going halfway across the globe.  The back was made from the left over pieces that coordinate beautifully with the skating fabric from the Star.

Ruth B. showed us her collection of fabrics some stash and some new.  All ready for a few patterns to make some cute baby quilts.

Maggie showed her Bandit Feathered Friends.  May be adding top and bottom row to solve the too square problem.

Linda's Star Wars Baby quilt it pieced and waiting for the border and a fleecy star wars back.

Candy used here left over triangles for this cute multi bordered lap size quilt.

She asked the group for suggestions on what to do with some of the remaining triangles. This shows putting a few top and bottom but offset to the sides.  It should look great and provide a lot of interest.

DeeDee had a number of quilts finished.  A few will be gifted and sure to make someone very happy!

Britt did some lovely quilting on the "butterfly" blocks that have some Jason Yenter fabrics.

Ruth S.  shared her absolutely wonderful Dragon Fly quilt ... the embellishments really sparkle.

She also had a number of bowl holders ready for gifting.

It was so great to see everyone and share stories and delicious fruit crisp.

Until next time .... (when we return you to your regularly polished blogger).

Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!!  Thank you to Ruth B. for serving as today's hostess and to Deborah for scheduling our meeting on Zoom.  At 45* this morning, it was definitely too cold to gather outdoors!

Show and Tell...

Deborah:

Nothing to show, but she's been working on binding.  Later, she shared that she recently acquired her mother's rock paintings.  This strawberry is the only one that I got a decent photo of:

Lynda Mac

She's working on getting her 2nd Calico Cats quilt top together:

Ruth S. is back from New York

With stories to tell and projects to share...

She will be making another of these table runners for a family gift exchange

Maggie is back from a month at the lake...

She started out with a quilt puzzle, but hold onto your hats because she was a whirlwind of activity!

Britt has been busy quilting for others

And is happy to report that her commission was underbid by another quilter so that's off her To Do List:

Gayle...

Reported that her next Lori Holt block is ready to applique:

Joy had 2 tells - She started work Southern Season.  She also had 2 offers yesterday on the old house and 3 showings booked for today:

Ruth B...

She's sad to say that her neighbor is moving away.

Ruth took Gayle's "preparing for winter" tasks to heart and has been doing the same.

Apologies to Maggie for missing all of the pattern information from her quilt making extravaganza at the lake.  (I would be happy to add the information, if you will drop me a text or email listing them in the order of the photos.)

Until next time...
Let's go SEW!!!
