2/24/2022 CCLQ @ ZoomBee

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly zoom meeting.

DeeDee: finished a donation quilt top and working on a table runner for a friend as a birthday
gift. DeeDee has used 19 and 3/4 yards of fabric!!! DeeDee and a friend visited a new fabric
shop in Roxboro called Contextures:

Deborah: nothing to show today. Plans to get back on track with the Atmosphere Quilt next
week.  However she was captured showing her quilt at the In-person Guild Meeting the screen above shows what the Guild Zoom participants saw.

Maggie: finished binding another lovely Christmas quilt. Britt did the quilting on it. Making
donation quilt for the Breast Cancer retreat. Made another row on the Row by Row Beach quilt
with cute and colorful fish. Also finished a dramatic Heron silhouette quilt…has completed her
last UFO!!! Finished an improv challenge quilt with colorful tulip center and squares on the
border.

Pattern from Cut Loose Press Lightning Flash and Creative Grids Straight Out of Line ruler.

Gayle: busy quilting the Lori Holt appliqué flower quilt. Working on the tiny appliqué animals
blocks. Finished quilting the red and white Christmas block quilt which will be a table topper.
Looking forward to traveling soon to warmer sunnier places.

Ruth S: working on a donation quilt. Found a pretty focus fabric to use with a couple of fat
quarter packs that she bought last year at the Amish shop in upstate NY when Deborah visited.

Candy: started another Gazebo table topper, but didn’t like the colors so ripped it out. Thinks
solid colors or tone on tone works best for this pattern. Can’t host next week and will look on
the schedule to change with someone.

Ruth B: gave DeeDee the Noah’s Ark quilt to give to DOQ. Finished quilting the elephant quilt
and will add binding to complete this one. Enjoyed having family visit last weekend.

Linda Haskell: got together with family and several folks are quilters. Linda’s sister-in-law found
some Grudge fabric in flannel.  She has been giving Mo a bunch of affection since he is sticking close to her these days.

Cheryl: finished putting together the Lime Twist baby quilt. Made the backing from left over pieces. Britt finished quilting the brown quilt with a nice design.

Until next Week!

... Are her focus for the year:

I think she enjoyed the meeting:

We had a discussion about Spoonflower and DOQ's guest speaker this month, Susie Monday.  Sherry inquired about putting photos on fabric:

This is the product that Maggie used for printing photos (along with sentiments added in Word) and Joy had someone else do the photos for a quilt she made:

Someone suggested checking with Mary Glenn's printing company and Karen relayed her story of making quilt labels at Spoonflower.

Sherry sent the following after the meeting...

Hi, Joy, here's the link. I'm not sure why it's in Chinese since I think it is a New York gallery. Nice meeting tonight. Thanks for setting it all up every month.  - Sherry

Thanks for that, but I just send out the meeting notice and write up the posts.  Kirsten is the one who sets up the meeting.  Thanks for that, Kirsten!!

Until next time...
Let's go SEW!!!
