8/27/15 - CCLQ @ Candy's House

This week's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters was held at Candy's house.  There were 8 members in attendance.  We got a jump start on Show and Tell when Joy put out her French Provincial Quilt...

DISCLAIMER:  The photograph posted above was taken prior to today's meeting at Candy's house.

To see if Candy had any border fabric that might work. She did!! Thanks, Candy!! The question will be whether there is enough:

Joanna showed some of us an optical illusion. No telling WHAT she has planned for this:

Smile, Gayle!  You finished ANOTHER Donation Quilt... minus the binding:

Oh! Joanna brought back her granddaughter's graduation quilt so that YOU could see the front:

Although, THIS may be a more accurate representation of the colors.  I really can't recall:

And... since we were having a bit of Show and Tell, Joy threw out the quilt she just bound.  Gayle did the quilting last week and was surprised that the binding was finished:

DISCLAIMER:  The photograph posted above was also taken prior to today's meeting at Candy's house.

Deborah settled in to get a bit more quilting done on her Star Quilt:

Here's Gayle, working on the binding of that beautiful Donation Quilt:

Cheryl K. was also doing some binding today:

That will be the next step on Candy's Convergence Quilt:

Here's a closer look at the curved quilting that was done using a walking foot.  It was inspired by one of Jean's recent quilts and a Craftsy Class with Jacquie Gering of Tallgrass Prairie Studio:

Jean was, once again, armed with rotary cutter and rotating cutting mat:

She did further destruction of her collection of Jelli Prints:

Look how happy Joanna is when you get a cup of coffee in her hands...

A stack of batting at her feet...

And a bucket of plastic parts in her lap:

Candy shared the next quilt top in her adorable Animal Alphabet "series":

You can see (a sliver of) her border options across the top of the following picture:

LOOK!!  Candy was thoughtful enough to coordinate today's napkins with Gayle's quilt:

Don't worry, Dee Dee!  I save one for you.  Although, you may have to remind me to bring it to you:

Speaking of Dee Dee... There was some discussion as to whether she was in South Carolina or New Jersey!  Wherever she was, she remembered to text Candy when it was time to get ready for lunch!!! Thanks, Dee Dee!  What would we do without you???  Enjoy  your trip and come home soon.

In case you were wondering about that bucket of plastic parts, Joanna was playing with...

Here is a close-up of the technological masterpiece in progress:

For the first time in a LONG time, ALL of us went to lunch!  The Mebane Downtown Table was DE-lish!!!  Our compliments to the new chef.  The impressive chandeliers added to the ambiance:

8/25/15 - NT Nights @ Hboro Library

This evening's meeting of the NT Nights group looked a bit slim.  There were only 3 members in attendance and one of those was at work and joined in the fun quite late.  :o((

What happened to everyone?!?!  Annelise was at the airport (picking up or dropping off a friend.)  Britt was at BBQ.  Too bad it was her brain!!  (She totally forgot about the meeting!)  Carol was at the club.  (That was the running club for those of you who don't know of her latest venture.)  Linda might have been a lump on the couch, for all I know!  Hoping she's OK... along with the rest of our members who couldn't make the meeting.

Margaret and Jill didn't seem to mind, as they were having a grand time working and chatting away!

Joy took the following pictures once she (finally!) arrived...

Jill latest quilt made of scrappy bits:

SEW simple, but SO effective:

Our new "empty nester" has picked up a handwork project for when she "goes places":

Margaret started this project in a class with Becky Goldsmith.  Cheryl B. reminded her to get her block back out, as Cheryl is working on the same project from when it was shared in a magazine:

Here's the template that she's using to line everything up properly:

Take a look at the digital prints that Margaret got at Wish Upon a Quilt:

Incredible, huh?!:

Joy just finished the binding on her Old Orange Commission.  Gayle did the quilting.  You can see better/other pictures over on her BLOG.  Follow THIS LINK, if you are interested:

Here's a shot of the stitching project that Jill worked on at the end of the night:

She adds them to gift packages.  What a GREAT idea, Jill!

Until next time...
Mark your calendar for the LAST Tuesday in September!!!

8/20/15 - CCLQ @ Ella's

Today's meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters was held at Ella's house.  A special thank you goes out to Deborah for taking the photos and sending them along to Joy!!  She was out of town doing a college visit with DS2.

Here's what Joy missed...

Deborah is still working on her Texas Star and Lady of the Lake.

Lots of fabric fondling! These are from Cheryl's trip to Ohio:

A few weeks ago, Cheryl gave Jean antique pillow cases. Jean hand dyed them and gave them back to Cheryl for her blue quilt:

Jean has been trying to use up her Procion Dyes.  These fabrics were brought as gifts for the group:

Back of Joanna's quilt, not sure what happened to the picture of the front:

Jean is making a T-shirt for Willie's Birthday... he will be 7:

Joanna gave a tutorial on microwave bowl:

Thank you, again, to Deborah for taking today's photographs and taking the time to send them to be posted to the blog.

Until next time...
Keep quilting!!!
