12/12/24: CCLQ at Candy’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week ten quilters met at Candy’s house.  Enjoy the wonderful variety of quilts and other crafted items.

Ruth S shared this beautiful Round Robin quilt.  She plans to donate it for Veterans.

Ruth also completed this adorable kids donation quilt top.

This quilt is named…”Going Buggy!”

Ruth dazzled us with another project..a very merry Christmas tree wall hanging.

Ruth embellished the tree with red beads.

Ruth has also been making Christmas tree ornaments from a variety of found objects.

Maggie finished this fabulous fall banner.  The fabrics were from Lori Holt.

DeeDee made this purple tote bag for Angela who we met through Ruth B.  Ruth picked out the fabric.

DeeDee is almost finished with the binding on this wonderful quilt for Harbor.

Candy shared this sweet holiday card that her daughter designed.

Joy shared this marvelous accordion art journal.

Linda H shared these pins that she purchased in NYC.

Linda also shared some photos of shops she visited in the garment district of New York.

This store mainly sold zippers of all sizes!

Linda asked her daughter’s boyfriend what colors he liked for a quilt.

He said he always like red pandas.  Linda found this awesome red panda fabric on Spoonflower.

The panda fabric line also had a nice complementary  striped fabric.

Lynda reported that her husband recently reconnected with a cousin. This is one of the quilts made by his cousin.

This quilt journal Quiltfolk featured an article about the quilter and her daughter who are both quilters.  Very fascinating story.

Cheryl finished the baby quilt for a friend.

Close up of Cheryl’s wonderful spiral quilting!

Carol finished another lovely scrappy donation quilt.

Carol also finished this wonderful Wanderer quilt. It’s a fun method to use up orphan blocks and scraps!

Carol also finished this fun one inch “U” quilt.  Carol reported that she is busy smocking a dress for the new grand baby.

Deborah brought an unfinished bag for her son-in-law.

She found lots of fun fabrics that reflect his interest. The last fabric should arrive today and will be added to the bottom.

Inside pocket is a Star Trek fabric.

Quilt for one of the twins is on Candy’s design wall.

Candy showed this beautiful finished quilt for one of the twins.

Thank you Joy for taking our wonderful group shot.

Christmas party will be at Carol’s this Saturday. Happy holidays and safe travels to all!

12/5/2024 CCLQ @ Cheryl's

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters Bee Meeting this week hosted by Cheryl with some of the best home made cookies.

Deedee started off by passing a table runner to Deborah that is ultimately for Gayle.  Then she showed all 7 shopping tote bags she made as gifts for this holiday season.  The fabrics were chosen specifically for each friend.

Ella showed a cute baby/child donation quilt top made from her stash.

Lynda had a 2 bag full of show-n-tell, starting with some lovely fabrics then the finished child donation quilt made from her left over Kaffe fabrics.  She is going to keep using her stash of left over  scraps to make more child donations.  She is feeling very good about using them up but not as good as having the "Ladies" quilt all finished.  Britt did an outstanding job with the quilted feathers in the sashing.  Still deciding where the ladies will be residing within her home.

Maggie had a cute little topper/placemat made from gifted pkg of mini charms.  She is also working on left over scrap pieces to a donation top.  Just found the two fabrics that will be used for inner and outer borders.

Deborah has the Hearts quilted ready for binding.

Candy was busy making large draw string gift bags that will be used this holiday season.

Cheryl has the Birds quilting started but it slow going.  We're sure her mojo will be back in the coming week.

Ruth joined us today with Angela.  Ruth also needs to get her mojo back after doing a little sewing the day before where a pin jumped into the path of the needle.  Deedee is going over to see what's up with the machine after the pin incident.  Angela was very happy to see all the show-n-tell.  Maybe Ruth will have some luck in converting her to the Quilter's Way....ha ha not sure what the Quilter's Way is but it sure is fun.

That's all for now.  Keep sewing and watch out for those jumping pins!
