NOTE:  Members, please check this LINK for the CCLQ Spring Calendar.  April - June dates have been posted.  Make sure that you are available for dates listed.  Contact Joy to make changes once a substitute hostess has been secured the calendar will be released.  Thanks!!

Welcome to the LAST meeting in March!!  10 members met at Joy's house for coffee, yummy Cinnamon Streusel Muffins made by Joy, Scottish Shortbread, and Madeline Brownie Bites that were complements of Linda.  Much chatter was followed by more chatter and a bit of Show and Tell...

Deborah worked on binding:

Ruth S. preparing to stitch:

Deborah is starting a new quilt...

... With these TINY Wonky Stars:

Here's a clearer look at what the finished quilt will be like:

See???  Ruth S. is working on sewing down a binding for a Donation Quilt:

Cheryl K. was busy with a knitting project:

Jean finished a new bag for a friend:

Today, she hand-stitched the handles down:

Ella did some more work on her Beehive Tea Pot:

LOOK!!!  Linda isn't even complaining about stitching down the binding:

WHAT is this interesting piece of fabric???  (Shown below.)

Ruth B. is starting an applique project:

Who is responsible for this LARGE Modern Quilt???

Oh!  It's Joanna and she's done something VERY different:

Ella is trying to figure out the bendy contraption that Linda brought:

This is the book that Deborah borrowed from Britt:

Here is the book that Ruth B. is using.  She's making the cover quilt:

Cheryl K. got some new fabric from that website that she told us about recently:

 Rayon...

... And cotton jersey:

Deborah was sewing the binding down on this Tube Quilt:

Based on Deborah's explanation of how the blocks were made, Joy ran upstairs and quickly sewed four 2/5" strips together for an impromptu demonstration...

Here, Deborah shows that the strips are sewn into a tube:

Then you flatten the tube and trim off the end to get a 45 degree angle:

There are a couple of stitches that get popped open...

... To make the square:

Continue down the WOF strip to get about 8 blocks (if Joanna's memory is correct.):

The 6.5" ruler gets moved from edge to edge, cutting to make the squares:

If the seams had been pressed, nice (square) blocks would have resulted:

Continue to the end of the strip set:

We got 3 blocks out of the random strips from Joy's 2.5" strip drawer:

Here is a closer look at the blocks:

And a larger (close-ish) view:

Here is the quilt that Linda quilted yesterday at Ella's:

These are some of the fabrics that Ella got on her last trip to Kentucky:

Here is the next applique pattern she is planning to make:

Ella finished this quilt top yesterday:

Joy is still working on S's T-quilt:

The quilting is done on her big brother's T-quilt:

NC State fleece fabric covers the back of the quilt:

Here's a shot of the sports-themed pantograph that Bo from Hillsborough Quilting used on O's quilt:

Jean finished the handles and applied a yo-yo for decoration:

She left the ends of the handles stabilizer-free so that the knot could be tied easily:

Hopefully, her friend won'd carry heavy loads, but it certainly is adorable:

THIS may be the next pattern Jean tries:

M is for Marcus:

Leftovers from The Ramses Quilt with some yellow added in:

Jean put it together using QAYG on batting then added backing and quilted the lines shown below:

If I got this right... Jean used techniques found on Patsy Thompson's blog and Christina Cameli, who recommended Lori Kennedy's technique of divide and conquer quilting.  (Lori is coming to the John C. Campbell Folk School in September if YOU want to become a more proficient at machine quilting!)

Joy got several inquiries regarding THIS hand towel, which was purchased at Kohl's:

After a quick clean of the kitchen, Joy went out to find herself trapped:

HERE is the peace offering the driver brought back...

... From Saratoga Grill.  YUM!!!  (Thanks for thinking of me!!):

Until next time...
Park responsibly!!!  :P
