The majority of our members would prefer to stay closer to home.  Fortunately, the ever gracious Cheryl B. has offered up her studio for a Blooming 9-Patch Party of our own.  Thanks, Cheryl!!  Details to follow.

Candy has secured the board room at Family House for a meeting/ Sew Day on October 20th. Start planning your projects now!!

SHOW and TELL

Joy shared a client quilt (that has since been delivered) and she plans to load another when she gets home:

Ruth B. - Nothing to show or tell

Linda - Nothing to show, but had a TELL.  She has started cutting 572 black squares for a quilt for herself.  There are also 13 colors for the queen sized quilt for herself!

Candy - Her TELL is that Lilly's Tee Pee collapsed with a crash.  :o((

Cheryl K. - They delivered their DIL to their son last week.  She brought this bag of scraps for Joy:

She made this bag as a retirement gift for a friend:

The fabrics were from Ruth B. and they have been put to good use.

Ruth S. - Pumpkin Quilt for Fall to machine quilt:

She has the 30 yards of Amish Black fabric to cut and disperse:

This photo was taken AFTER lunch.  We have our priorities!!  LOL

Ruth S. is working on her applique from this pattern:

Stems are attached:

Britt - shared her little quilt for A Doll Like Me:

Helena - No Show or Tell.

Margaret - Added borders to her Autumn View Quilt:

Cheryl B. - Love Quilt for Africa:

She waited to the last minute to start this quilt.  The use of her Shape Cut ruler really helped.

Demo after the meeting portion of our day:

Her Shape Cut ruler:

Cheryl is now using Ricky Tims Stable Stuff Poly for her applique blocks:

The product doesn't wash out, but it softens up after washing.  She is turning the edges and applying washable glue.  (Candy calls this the "Gayle" method.)  A block can now be completed in 2 hours on the machine instead of 2 weeks by hand!!

TIP:  Use a piece of Press and Seal to keep your thread from unwinding all over the place:

Lunch was followed by an afternoon of sewing!  Photos to follow.

Until next time...
Go SEW!!!
