11/21/19: CCLQ at Jean’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  On November 21st thirteen lucky quilters met at Jean’s home. Why was this a lucky day?  Take a look below to find the answer.

Jean unveiled her long awaited Christmas quilt.  This tiny photo does not do help you see the amazing beauty of this quilt. Expert embroidery by Jean and exquisite  quilting by Suzann DeSerres of Singing Stitches make this quilt a treasure.
We were honored and lucky to have Suzann as our special guest today!
Close up of  a couple of my favorite blocks...it was hard to decide!
Each block was embroidered on silk and the striping and border are made of linen.  The resulting textural effect is stunning.
Ruth S went to a recent sale at Spoonflower and purchased this wonderful fish fabric.
Ruth S reported that she sewed on 25 Girl Scout badges for her granddaughter.  She's working on the binding of her Blooming Nine Patch quilt and making microwave bowl holders.
Ruth S shared this lovely card idea.  The fabric is batik and it's embellished with machine stitching.  This card is from a friend of Ruth's who plays canasta.  Notice the hearts, spades, diamonds, and clubs sewn as part of the design.
Gayle has been busy busy making holiday decorations for her  new home which has a beach decor.   She made two stockings.
Gayle also created a beach inspired table runner.
DeeDee went to the beach last weekend and stopped at Loving Stitches in Fayetteville. She bought these awesome fabrics.
At the beach, DeeDee found another quilt shop and bought more fabric!
DeeDee could not resist this chicken fabric!
DeeDee has also been busy making more grocery bags for gifts.
Lynda shared her latest Sue Spargo blocks!
What wonderful and complicated detail on this block!  This quilt will be another treasure!
Carol is also making grocery bags as gifts and plan to fill them with groceries!
Maggie finished this awesome art quilt for her husband. Jean embroidered the runner.
Maggie added the borders to the red, white and blue star quilt.  It will be donated as a Quilt of Valor Quilt.
Maggie used her kaleidoscope test blocks to make a table runner.
Joanna went to the November DOQ meeting and purchased two patterns by Annette Ornelas.

Ruth B reported that she is working on her Blooming Nine Patch.  She's also sewing the binding on this lovely blue and yellow quilt.
Jean made a mod podge plate using an embroidered design on cloth.
Jean showed the plastic file box that goes inside a fabric bag to make it sturdier.
Jean made this lovely embroidered piece with chickadees and flowers.
Jean also embroidered this adorable piece as a Christmas gift for a friend.
Candy made a set of placemats using Maggie's pattern.  Maggie will bring the pattern next time.
Deborah used some gelli prints to make this pillow.
Willie loves it when the quilters come!

Until next time,  bee inspired!
