3/3/2022 CCLQ @ Ruth's

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting.

Nine of the CCLQ members were excited and happy to meet in person at Ruth's home.

Ella showed us the finished quilt we had been seeing on her design wall.  The fabrics have such cute bunnies and owls.

Linda has a new quilt block pattern that she is drafting to figure out how best to construct it.

Maggie was binding the window panel that Britt quilted.

DeeDee showed one of the table runner bird blocks that is for a friend but might have too blue a tone for the friends home.   But the quilt she showed will definitely be going in to her home.  The fabrics just looked so good in person and the backing fabric of little birds went so well.

Cheryl showed the donation lime twist she did and told us that the original plan was to have two different block frame colors but after making a few too many she did 2 quilts instead of one.  As well as making two "After Quilts" with the left over fabrics (as per Karen Browns video's).

Gayle didn't have any show but told us of her plans to work on UFO's and discovery of "black gold" composting she found on her property that is destined for her garden and flower beds.

Deborah shared her Atmosphere alternating blocks and now she is moving on to the Circle blocks that will be done using the yo-yo technique.

Ruth B. shared her mystery bag of fabrics from Pineapple Fabrics and the elephant baby donation.  Her quilting in the border that switch between straight and zig-zag stitching was great and a novel idea that a few of the other quilters will be giving it a try.

Ruth S. had a wonderful show of a gift her Granddaughter gave her so she would not forget her face or her personality.  It is printed on supper soft minky type of fabric.  She showed a fox pillow that will go to the upper NY state friend that has had fox run-ins.  A sweet little donation quilt top was shared along with a beautiful painted rock (that's right this rock is beautiful and useful as a weight).  All these shows were housed in a tote bag that Ruth made and hand quilted years ago and it has made its way back to her as a great trip down memory lane.

Until next time sew on!
