4/28/2022 CCLQ @ Lynda's

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting.

We had a real treat today getting to see Lynda's lovely pollinator garden in process with Planting Shed and lovely Garden Gate (both Thanks to Chris).  Also the Birds were mesmerizing but camera shy.

Ruth Started us off with a good laugh and a few stories before she took her leave from us for the summer months.  Thanks Ruth for doing the binding on the Disappearing 4-Patch donation quilt it uses 6 inch squares sewn as 4 patch then re-cut 1 1/4 from center seams.

Maggie showed a quick donation top that Sarah P. had 150 blocks ready to be assembled.  Thanks to multiple members that each took 30 blocks to put together.  The Pattern is called Flower Bed.

Also showed 2 baby sized quilts.  Charmed is a free pattern by Keera Job link to Charmed  keep scrolling to see Carols version which follows the pattern correctly. This one is smaller.

Candy showed a finished Ukraine quilt with the surprise back that is like the countries flag. And just then Britt showed up to delivery hot off the longarm her Triangles quilt that used up some left over blocks and has an inspiring pieced border.

Carol showed her Charmed top and side by side you can see the sizing difference. Square vs Rectangle.

Dee Dee show completed Ukraine Baby Quilt and collaborative quilt of charms with stars.
Dee Dee's favorites from the PAQA Show at the Paige-Walker Center in Cary follow.  She was meaning to talk to us about it but due to pollen brain forgot.

Both Ruth B and Lynda had stories and we all had some great conversation.  So much so I forgot to get a photo of our surprise delivery quilter ... Britt.

  Sew On till next week.

4/21/2022 CCLQ at Linda's

Welcome to the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters weekly meeting.

Ruth B. showed the borders attached to the Bunny quilt and has plans to use another blue for the backing and binding.
Ruth gave us a great smile .... trust us it's behind this lovely "woven ribbon" quilt that is destined for the Ukraine.

Ruth S. finished binding this Ukraine donation quilt during the meeting and handed over to Candy.
The "after" quilt on the back used up the left over pieces of the butterfly layer cake.
Carol is finishing up a log cabin lap quilt that is going to a friend that has the same color pallet.

DeeDee shared an alternative to pin basting quilts ... sprinkle the power between the layers and iron to fuse it.  No fumes like spray basting.

Then the finished and washed quilt ready for the Ukraine.

Maggie used a Row by Row as the top of a small quilt of 5" charms.

Urban Scandinavian Colored Pieces .... good for using up 2.5" scraps in 2.5, 4.5 and 6.5 widths
the pattern can be found at web address:

Sneak peak at next wip 2.5" squares is called Charmed on Live Love Sew by Keera Job
Row by Row 2015 fused to Peltex 70 instead of batting .... it can stand on it's own
but is better on the wall above cutting table.

Until Next Week at Lynda's.
