2/15/2024: CCLQ at Deborah’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the group met at Deborah’s. Lots of fun show and tell today including fancy socks!

Happy Valentine’s Day Quilt in Deborah’s foyer.

Cheryl had a wonderful visit with her grandson.  He enjoys playing with tiny plastic animals, so Cheryl made this cute drawstring bag with fun animal fabric for him.

Candy shared that she’s been working on her Round Robin block and enjoyed having company last week.

Candy started the fancy sock show and tell, with these adorable socks which have photos of her grandkids!

Carol made this beautiful grandma quilt for her granddaughter’s nanny.

Beautiful quilting by Gayle.

Carol shared this amazing “Temperature Quilt” for her granddaughter’s upcoming first birthday.  A legend of the color meaning will be on the back of the quilt.

Gayle made two lovely placemats for Meals on Wheels program.

Gayle made this concertina sketchbook and added her own Gelli printed papers for the front/back book covers

Gayle created this special art piece for a church in Wilmington.  The church requested artists to create art based on the Seven Stations of the Cross.  Gayle’s art depicts the seventh station which represents perfection.

Gayle created this piece using fabric appliqué and paint.

Lynda reported that she added the border on the Tilda quilt. She’s working on some UFO projects and completed the block for the Round Robin.

Ruth B found this handout showing Moroccan designs which was from a DOQ pre station by Judy Corley-Lay. She also worked on the Round Robin Block.

Deborah finished this donation  quilt top using up left over bird fabrics.

Joy’s show was her lovely quilted jacket.  She’s been working on the red table scrap challenge.

DeeDee is almost finished with the binding on this lovely Hospice quilt.

Lynda also displayed her  fancy socks featuring llamas.

Carol showed her cute turtle socks.

There was discussion about the upcoming QuiltCon show next week. Everyone’s excited!

Until next time, happy quilting!
