3/4/2024: CCLQ at Maggie's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

This week the group met at Maggie's with some relaxing conversation and sharing.

Cheryl is fighting back from a covid bout but came to exchange totebags and hand in a few lovely placemats for Meals on Wheels.

Ruth is finishing up the binding on her latest (do we say last ever)  portrait quilt of her son's beloved doggie.  She was so happy to see and share a top she handed in for donation quilting it was inspired by one that Lynda Mac made earlier in the year.  Following that She showed the donation quilt she is binding and the placemats she made for Meals on Wheels.

Carol also showed a placemat she made from a kit that was only given to her 2 days before.  She is binding a donation called Charmed.  Then she showed us another scrappy Eye Spy logcabin'ish top.  And the cherry on top was a Birthday Cake table runner with her granddaugher's name embroidered.  She gave inspirational credit to Lynda Mac's runner that was made for her grandkids.  Some great sharing going on in this group.

Candy wasn't able to be with us but she passed along this placemat.

Deedee had a number of items to show from placemats to microwave bowl cozys and finally a "Potato Chip" pattern top.

Ruth was happy to hand in her challenge quilt for donation.  And just as excited to show the Kaffe fabric blocks all put together.  Discussion was on possible border options.  Can't wait to see what she decides to do.

Deborah shared her Quilt Con purchases.  From fabric and thread to a new notion for most of us of a thread dispenser and thread guard. The guards form a sleeve around the spool to keep it from unravelling.

Linda has been on a roll.  Literally ... she used jelly roll strips to make these wonderful placemats for the Meals on Wheels recipients.  She is currently binding the Tula Pink quilt that looks better each time we get to see it.

Maggie has started a new child quilt that will be from Tin men blocks.  She shared her Quilt Con Purchases and the first Riley Blake Banner of the month kit that might not been done until Easter 2025. She also asked the group for help in deciding what to do with some donated fabric that is somewhat dated in design.
