3/21/24: CCLQ at Carol’s

 Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week quilters met at Carol’s home which was beautifully decorated was Easter!  Today was the final exchange day for our Round Robin bags.  The big reveal due date of our quilt tops or possibly fully completed quilts is April 25th.  We didn’t show the blocks today, but there was anticipation and excitement in the air!


Carol showed this beautiful donation quilt made with Harry Potter fabric. For the temperature quilts for the grandchildren,  Carol found a local embroidery place that will embroidery the legend for the back of the quilts. The legend will have the colors listed with the corresponding temperature of the day.  

Ella was happy to return to our weekly meeting this week.

Lynda reported that Britt has finished the quilting on the flannel quilt. Lynda also worked on a couple more blocks for the Round Robin. 

Cheryl went shopping at Keepsake Quilting and found this lovely French blue fabric to make a reversible apron for her husband. 

Cheryl found this lovely fabric which she’ll use for borders for a quilt for a friend.

Ruth B reported that she has enjoyed making blocks for the Round Robin exchange. 


DeeDee showed these adorable wonky heart quilt blocks. 

Joy was in full bloom with a newly handmade spring jacket and two tiny quilts. 

Joy also mentioned Rambling River Mercantile ..it’s a coffee shop in Haw River that accepts locally made items.  
Joy was busy knitting some nighty cool looking socks. 

Linda reported that a Virginia quilt shop, A Thread Runs Through It, is moving to a new location and having a sale next week.  

Gayle finally got the facing sewn on the Starry Night quilt. 

Deborah made this “after quilt” backing for the bird quilt using up most of the left over fabrics.
