Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week Cheryl was our host with an entertaining display of Birds at the window feeder.
Ruth had a cautionary tell about a snowman panel that turned out to be a pattern instead. Then she showed us her cute doggie baby quilt. Everyone loved the blues from her stash that made it such a happy quilt. Then she was back to being entertained by the birds.
Linda is starting an Animal themed baby quilt. This cute little panel will be center stage with a leaf outer border fabric. The first choice inner border seemed to be a bit lost and Cheryl to the rescue had a fabric that was bit more orange/brown with more contrast.
Candy had her donation Josephine's Knott throw all together.
Ella was sitting pretty and told us she is still working on her Grandson's Signal Flag Names.
Deedee shared a pattern she purchased after seeing it at the Elon show (can't wait to see her version). The panel donation quilt now has more appropriate sized borders and she will start on the quilting.
Maggie had a number of completed donations for show. All were from either stash fabric or Tuesday Group donated fabrics. A word of caution about using glue to baste the finding inplace. Don't put it on the corners ... very hard to sew up the diagonal fold when the glue is dry and stiff.
Ruth was not going to miss the meeting even for an early unscheduled Dentist appointment.
Cheryl now has the fabric for both her current projects. She got the perfect background sashing fabric for her modern purple/blue blocks. All the leftover strips from the blocks are now sewn into stripsets ready for inspiration on another project. She got the final blue for her Josephine's Knott, need a lot of fabric to make a queen quilt. And best for last the Autum Tree is back from Britt's longarm magic.
From Birds to Autum Tree's we sure had some eye candy to go along with the fresh baked biscuits. Until next week enjoy the Spring and get creative.
