The December 3rd meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters was held at Cheryl K's house. We had 10 members in attendance for excited chatter, coffee, and quilts. Most of us kept busy during the meeting...
Joy worked on trimming up squares for Step One of Bonnie Hunter's 2015 Winter Mystery Quilt, Allietare:
Ruth S. showed off not ONE...
... But TWO Donation Quilt blocks made from her stash:
She worked on her Bluff Quilt. Some of you may recognize this as the Sewing Cottage from our Quilt Retreat:
Gayle busied herself with cutting out hexies:
Ruth B. did some knitting:
Ella told about the "Play Date" that she had with Dee Dee...
... And showed the work that they did "mono printing":
Each block...
... was Ella's...
... FAVORITE one!!!
She even turned one print into a beautiful wall hanging:
Nice work, Ella!! Dee Dee's a good teacher, isn't she?!?!
Cheryl K. had not ONE...
... But TWO table runners to share with us:
She told us about an excavation project that went on in her sewing room and showed the blocks for a new baby quilt...
Candy finished this knitting bag, but learned a few things...
... Which she used when making a second bag:
Joanna was busy on some dark and mysterious project:
Ruth B. also had a SHOW!!! A receipt??? Yes, for her NEW sewing machine which will be delivered in the coming weeks:
Congrats, Ruth!!! We wish you many hours of happy stitches!!
Oh! Here is the project that Joanna was being so mysterious about. As it turns out, she wasn't actually being mysterious, but was busily ripping out quilting stitches that hadn't made her happy:
By the end of the meeting she had ripped out ALL of the offending stitches in her wall hanging:
We asked those who were still doing the CCLQ @ The Bluff Mystery to leave the room while Deborah showed us her completed quilt top:
Did you REALLY expect that I would spoil the surprise?!?! :P
Dee Dee showed off the dog coat that she made for Miss Berwell...
From a shirt that LITERALLY came right off of Joy's back!!!
Dee Dee also completed her Christmas Truck wall hanging:
Here is a close-up of some of the detailing:
Joy shared TWO of these String Pinwheel donation blocks for the Covered in Love program for patients at East Texas Medical Center (and made two MORE when she got home):
NOTE: Deborah talked about an easy method for facing a quilt.
Nine quilters went to lunch while one of us went off to run errands. Rasa was the closest option. That's fine because it is delicious, too!
Until next time...
Enjoy the season!!!
