10/12/17: CCLQ at Candy's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week 11 quilters met at Candy's home. If everyone was here today, we would have have 14!!  Joy and DeeDee started this group and it's wonderful to have so many wonderful quilting friends!  Candy prepared some yummy snacks and Linda brought gluten free blueberry muffins.

Beautiful art quilt by Candy

Here's a first glance of fabric and quilt blocks for the donation quilts for the victims and emergency responders of the Las Vegas  tragedy. Linda donated the jelly roll fabric and Cheryl has already made three blocks.

Cheryl K made these blocks.

Joanna drafted a pattern for us to follow in making the donation quilts. One quilt will have pastel colors and one will have bright colors.  Bright fabrics should read as a single color, i.e,. tone on tone. The next Sew Saturday will be a workday for these quilts.  For members who can't attend Sew Saturday, just bring your blocks next Thursday.

Candy finished quilting and binding baby Noah's quilt.

Wonderful quilting design

Ruth B had news about her move to her new home.  All is going smoothly.

Britt started appliquéing the border pieces for the Stars and Sprigs quilt.

Here's the pattern.  Whoa...that's a lot of appliqué  pieces!!

Deborah has made about 30 of 60 blocks needed for a modern Log Cabin quilt.

Joanna worked on the binding for this beautiful improvisational quilt.

Ella and DeeDee were joking about something!?!

Ella showed her fabric from Pineapple Fabrics.  She purchased these fabrics for Barry.

Ella and DeeDee went to a Thread Runs Through It Fabric store in Virginia and Ella found these wonderful colors!!!

Ella plans to use that fabulous fabric for this quilt pattern.

DeeDee made this charming sample block of her vintage kitty quilt.

DeeDee found these patterns at ATRTI quilt shop.

Pattern 2...lovely flowers

Britt gave Gayle a bunch of Kaffe Fassett fabric.  Last week, Gayle gave Britt a bunch of wool fabric.

It's official, Gayle has an "I'm Difficult" bracelet.

Linda was happy to bee with the group during her school break.

Happy Birthday Joy!  Joy worked on a complicated knitted scarf project.

Cheryl K asked for suggestions on the wedding quilt.

Cheryl shared photo of a sun/moon that she painted .

Cheryl also shared photo of a sun that she painted .

The group enjoyed a marvelous lunch at The Mebane Downtown Table in Mebane, NC.

Until next time, happy quilting!!
