CCLQ at Jean's 3/15/18

We had quite the fun meeting at Jean's house on 3/15 - complete with special lunch guests, Rick and Barry.  A special shout out to Rick for making us his delicious crumpets - he even made a gluten free version. Thank you!  Apparently the photographer was too busy eating to snap a picture of the yummy food.

But I had to snap a non-quilty picture. Check out the portrait of Lincoln Rick made...out of pennies!
Jean showed her latest embroidery machine applique. It's gorgeous, but she's finding out the hard way which stabilizers are challenging to remove.

 Pretty spectacular!

She also used her embroidery machine to do quilting
And shared a shirt she made from some donated silk
Ella was feeling good enough to join us!

Deedee reported her silk woes. A robe is giving her fits! But she received a sweet present for a significant birthday from Deborah to brighten her day!

Deborah continues to make progress on her quilt!

Gayle shared a new quilt top - great pattern and made from Aunt Grace fabrics!

Britt finished a special request basket for her sister

Joanna brought an unquilted donation quilt to share and Britt took it home to quilt it.

Ruth was working on binding this cheerful quilt

And showed two more pumpkin blocks (tilt your head, lol)

Candy shared about using interfacing to join batting sections

She's also has been learning how to do dot to dot quilting as taught by Angela Watters. Looking good!

Then we all headed up to Jean's sewing room and got to select some of her gorgeous silks to take home!  Thank you Jean!!

And if that wasn't enough fun we went out to lunch and were joined by Barry and Rick for more birthday celebration. It was delish!
