6/28/18: CCLQ @ Ella's

Summertime and the living is easy...especially with  quilting friends who share in the joy of making quilts. This week the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters met at Ella's lovely home. Keep reading and you can see how many people attended.  ðŸ˜€

This gorgeous Boston Commons quilt was displayed in Ella's living room.  It was hand pieced and hand quilted by Ella's aunt.

Remember last week when Gayle gave away several quilt items?  Well Margaret took this quilt kit and has already made this complicated quilt top! Beautiful work Margaret!
Cheryl B dazzled us with some amazing quilts.  This is  the Marrakesh Quilt from the Deb Tucker workshop taught by Rosie Sommers.
Cheryl showed this fabulous whole cloth quilt.

Close up the the incredible quilting...excellent work Cheryl!

Cheryl also shared her first whole cloth quilt.  What a beauty!

Show Stopper!!!!Cheryl had an interesting tell about this stunning quilt....her family has a Bob Timberlake painting of an old homestead that reminded her husband of his family home. There's a quilt in the painting and Cheryl's husband asked Cheryl if she could make one like it....and she did!

While looking for a dining room table, Lynda found this Martha Washington sewing cabinet for a deal at a consignment shop in Durham.

Lynda made this beautiful quilt from Heather Bailey fabrics. Click on Heather's name to read her bio.

Here's a photo of another quilt by Lynda using Heather Bailey's fabric line.
DeeDee is making a quilt like this....is a pattern from Jenny Doan of Missouri Star Quilts.

Here's DeeDee's block. She plans to make a Hospice quilt for Veterans.

More blocks for the Veterans quilt.

DeeDee finished the beautiful cat quilt!

DeeDee used the Quilt Pounce stencil for her quilting...this is the back of the cat quilt.

This is Deborah's modern log cabin from Cabin Fever .  Gayle just finished quilting it yesterday!  Deborah is eager to bind it and use if for a summer quilt.

Deborah is making some puppets for DGS's birthday...forgot to take photos of them.

Gayle worked on her whimsical Chapel Hill quilt.  Gayle reported that she's making a T-shirt quilt for Steve.  She also is getting a new guitar and is learning to play "Wild Thing."

Jean worked on deconstructing silk shirts.  She also shared a template for making pockets or fussy cutting blocks. This week Jean will start a "Quilt Camp" for some girls in her neighborhood.

OOOOh....a new gadget!!!

Jean shared this cutting gizmo...love the name....it's for quickly cutting  strands of chain pieced blocks.

Ella shared two of these lovely embroidered pieces.

Ella finished the delightful chicken placemats!

Ella also finished this beautiful Delectable Mountains quilt top.

Today was the day to wear blue....hmmm, someone didn't get the memo.

Six quilters enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Saxapahaw General Store Cafe.

Until next time, have a wonderful Fourth of July and enjoy whatever you're doing!
