9/20/18: CCLQ at Margaret's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week seven quilters met at Margaret's lovely log cabin home. Quilters who are participating in the Blooming Nine Patch project showed the progress they made at the Saturday Nimble Thimbles get together.  Please pardon any duplicate photos.  Lots of excitement was in the air as five quilters are getting ready to go "Retreat Repeat" hosted by  Ruth S at Lake Bluff in New York next week!
Margaret shared her blocks from the Seeing Stars Quilt Along.  Notice the clever way to keep blocks organized on pant hangers.

This star block features a curved center.

OOPs..this photo is upside down.  This is the suggested appliqué template for the tiny stars in this quilt.

Margaret chose to make the tiny star by using the friendship star block.
Ruth B was happy to share her Blooming Nine Patch blocks.

Here's Ruth's B9P from an arial view.

Lynda had a sew day with Britt on Sunday and added borders to the Kaffe Fassett quilt.

Lynda made lots of circles to appliqué.

Here's Lynda's technique for circles.  She uses plastic templates or file folder type tag board for the pattern.

Lynda and Britt found the perfect border fabric for this quilt.

Here's DeeDee's art quilt based upon a Paul Klee painting. DeeDee commented that she would have liked some printing on the background and maybe the cat too.   DeeDee was also working on taking apart some blocks she made at the 2007 NCAT quilting workshop.

Ella shared this wonderful quilt her mother made for Jennifer 's 10th birthday. What a treasure!

Joanna shared this exciting modern quilt.  The pattern is Dan's Climb and Joanna used Stonehenge fabrics.

Candy shared a photo of her wonderful B9P quilt on her design wall. Well done Candy!!!

Deborah worked on adding the sleeve to the donation quilt by Cynthia Latta.  Several folks want to make this quilt so a closer look at block layout was studied by all.

Quilters had lunch at Hillsborough BBQ.

Until next time, stay tuned to see what the Retreat Repeat Quilters will  share in two weeks!

Happy Quilting!
