The meeting began with 8 quilting friends in attendance...
... And ended the evening with 10 members showing up to visit and share what they've been working on:
SHOW AND TELL...
Dawn...
... Is making a quilt for her brother, using his old jeans:
Ann...
... Has let her granddaughter have free rein...
... Over her fabric scraps to make masks for family members:
Ann is using this Quilt in a Day pattern...
... To make a baby quilt:
The block construction was a bit of a surprise:
I believe this was the back cover of the pattern:
Patti...
... Recently completed the postage stamp edging...
She shared hints on its construction:
This was the best close-up I was able to get:
Here's an overview shot:
Margaret...
Finished the top of her Crumb quilt:
She tried laying it out with full spacer blocks, but liked the half-sized spacer blocks much better:
With that put together, Margaret started making Kitty blocks:
She's gotten three done, so far:
Jean...
We heard about ripped out stitches and requilting...
... Which is NOT easy on faux fur:
Jean introduced us to her new kitten:
Joyce...
... Has been a VERY busy quilter during Coronavirus lockdown! She has finished not one...
... Not two...
Diploma fabric on the back for her NC State grad:
Those are just the tip of the iceberg. She's completed TEN quilts (of varying sizes) during her self-isolation.
Carol...
... Hasn't been sewing. She's currently on a hunt for all the things that the painters moved during her interior repaint.
Britt...
... Has been doing some practice quilting...
... On a UFO to prepare for working on a quilt commission:
She's adding some hand stitching in this shiny thread:
Kirsten...
... Was prepared for a screen share:
She wondered if anyone would like to claim this cross stitch piece...
... And proceeded to share 20 years worth of stitching:
Such incredibly detailed work:
This one may end up being a gift for Kirsten's mother:
I can't recall what the fate of this piece will be:
These horses may end up being holiday items:
A Christmas pillow in the making:
She is in the process of getting her sewing room put back together and showed off a couple of filled shelving units:
Prompted by a question about the other quilts she's been working on, Joyce shared a phone photo of her Frolic Mystery quilt...
... Then took us to the sewing room to see a few other quilts:
Somewhere along the way, Joy...
... Showed off her (Modified) Sapphire Stars Mystery quilt...
Virtual Additions...
Better photos of Joyce's NC State quilt:
