2/4/21 - CCLQ @ ZoomBEE


Welcome to another meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilt Bee!!  Thank you to Deborah for scheduling our meetings.  Eleven members were in attendance.  Today's hostess was Joy.  Thanks for keeping the proceedings moving along, Joy!

Show and Tell...

Cheryl K:


Made a nice table topper with left over blocks from butterfly quilt.



Made a quilted bag for her friends.


 Planning to make a crazy log cabin quilt on Sew Saturday.





Deb:


Finished You Are My Sunshine pillow for sister.

DeeDee:


completed the beautiful Civil War quilt.



Used a petal template to quilt it. As shown above and below:


Mixed Media group did a self portrait challenge.


Freddy Moran (LINK and go to 2nd half), quilter out of California was her inspiration for this quilt.


The portrait quilt reflects the things that are important in her life...


the cat and the book fabric from Maggie, basket, cats, flowers, sewing...


what an amazing quilt!




Gayle: challenged the group to do a fabric self portrait and submit to our upcoming DOQ Quilt Show.


Made a colorful apron with solid color squares.



Has cut blocks to make a quilt for Sew Saturday.




Candy:


plans to work on gray and yellow quilt on Sew Saturday.


Used blocks with dark gray to make lovely place mats. Used point to point quilting.


Showed a beautiful donation quilt with golden diamonds and blue.








Maggie:




  • Shared a colorful cat quilt made of charm pack from French Connection:


The back is dancing cats!  Shared a gorgeous “Home NC “quilt  made from gray tone charm pack.


Showed her Convergence Quilt without the large border.





Joy: 


This week’s challenge is “vacation”. Joy found a Bahama’s T shirt.  Joy plans to make  a sample of a t-shirt quilt with no stabilizer in it.


Joy shared a work in progress...the “stay at home round robin.” This week she added plus signs border.


For table topper challenge...this month is yellow month. Joy showed an adorable yellow table runner made from scrap yellow blocks.




Lynda:


 making progress on the bright squares quilt..It’s 72 inches long now.





It’s so much fun...it’s like a puzzle...finding the color combination and sewing them down.



Ruth B:


getting ready for Sew Saturday.  Preparing to quilt Twirling quilt and a fabric basket from Joy’s pattern. Shared a photo of her aunts all dressed up to go somewhere.  Several folks suggested that Ruth used this photo for her portrait quilt!




Britt:



Britt joined Joy’s table runner challenge and made an improv of black background table runner with bright half square triangle and awesome match stick quilting.



tried a new kind of quilting ... “dwirling”  with wiggles and spirals on a donation quilt.







Ella:


Made a lovely new half square triangle quilt.
