Show and Tell...

Carol: shared the  “Catitude” quilt block. Carol is making three cat quilts and plans to give the them to her sorority sisters at an upcoming beach trip.

Deb: working on sewing the Mineral Matrix quilt together. Hopes to have top completed by next week!

Gayle: gave the stained glass cross quilt to Patsy for her 75th birthday and she loved it!  Been working on the garden.

Ruth S: Ruth delivered the face quilt to the principal of her daughter’s school.  The principal was so overjoyed to receive the quilt. She said, “This is the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me.”

Lynda: ordered some custom quilt labels from Ever Emblems sew on cotton labels. Finished the bright squares quilt and sewed the new label on too.

Joy: pulled some red fabrics for her red table scraps table runner.  Then started a mini red quilt or table topper. Finished her sea scape prize. Showed the current quilt on her long arm machine.  Joy used a cool wavy pattern for this quilt. (Dwirling.  Here's a LINK.)

Candy: Found a free “Luminous” Nine Patch pattern from Robert Kaufman.  Plans to make a smaller Blooming Nine Patch using this.  This Robert Kaufman pattern uses a 2.5 inch strip and 5 colors.

DeeDee: Reading a lot of books lately. Bought a Kaffe Fassett Kaleidoscope of Quilts book and plans to make some quilts from that book.

Ruth B: shared her Pineapple Fabric purchases from last week.

Maggie: Suggested a nice hiking trail on Horton Grove in Durham. Made a lovely table runner with diamonds and stars. Finished a colorful donation quilt for DOQ.

Linda H:  visited Pineapple Fabrics for a recording breaking 30 minute shopping trip to purchase a different quilt backing and some green fabrics. Working on butterfly quilt and has most of the rows sewn together.  Got a free pattern at Pineapple.

Editor's Note...

My apologies for being too late to get individual "portraits" done before the meeting began.  The group will talk next week about plans to go the the Pineapple Warehouse Sale on May 20th.

Until next time...
