Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters!
The group discussed Hampton Roads Quilt show and who would like to drive up and spend the night. So far only 1 car has commitment from the 4 passengers. Another 4 would like to go but can not commit yet. Understanding that the hotel deadline is Jan 21st for current rates.
On to show-n-tell ...
Candy has a couple of blocks and is thinking of one more to make a small table runner. She is also busy putting together crochet blocks into a throw blanket to send to the Ukraine.
Gayle showed her finished modern quilt that show some spectacular ruler work.
Ella finished and gifted the custom bicycle quilt to her friend who is just so excited to find the correct spot in her home to display it.
Carol continues to crochet a pink and white baby blanket at the appropriate size. (sorry no pic)
Cheryl told us of her delayed trip to Savannah and plans for traveling west to pick up a new camper.
Maggie showed the two small tops made at the Saturday sew day. The challenge was to use 5 half yard pieces. Cut 4 strips at 4" per half yard then sub cut one strip as half square, one strip as square and one strip as quarter triangle (ie. geese center). The remaining strip can be cut any way to fill out a design. There was no policing so she had to cut an extra strip of the gold and white fabric to get the two 33" square tops.
Ruth told us of her Holiday road trip to DC area. 2nd time was the charm for getting all the way there.
Deedee had a repair to do on a quilt that was chewed by a new doggie. She actually still had the binding fabric for the repair. She also showed a terrific thrift store find of a quilted jacket.
Sew On till next week.
