7/28/23: CCLQ at Cheryl’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week the group met at Cheryl’s home. Lots of fun show and tell.  Scroll through to see the latest projects, quilts, and links with directions for making a holiday quilted wine bag, a local online fabric shop, and the cool shopping bag tote box. Please excuse this post being a bit late….the blogger has been sewing, quilting, and binding to finish three quilts by August 8th!

Cheryl treated the group to delicious quiches!

Cheryl’s lovely butterfly quilt is displayed in the kitchen.

A big THANK YOU to DeeDee for making the star block kits for our upcoming star block donation quilt. Blocks are due Aug. 10th and the meeting that day will be at Maggie’s.

Each kit was complete with directions and center and background fabrics.

Maggie shared these wonderful quilted gift bags for wine or other items.  Click here to find directions.

Maggie made two adorable donation baby quilts.

Maggie traveled to Angier, NC to a quilt shop and found this pattern.

Maggie also shared this neat foldable grocery tote from Amazon

Gayle brought two beautiful donation quilts.

Deborah showed the throw size memory quilt.  She found extra fabric for the sashing online at SewLux fabrics in Raleigh. Deborah will add a border and get this quilted by next week.

Candy has been working on several home projects and is also sewing the quilted cover for her stand mixer.

Ruth B went to Cary Quilting Company and found this fabric for possible sashing for her Kaffe Fassett quilt.

Ruth is happy to keep working on the Kaffe Fassett Quilt!

Carol brought this stunning scrappy  donation quilt from the Tuesday group.  She’s working on the binding.

Carol is making Halloween placemats for her grandkids.

Cheryl made this as a backing for the Charlie Harper quilt, but decided to make it into another quilt.  She plans to appliqué some birds on the solid blocks.

This will be the backing for the quilts.

Linda reported that she’s excited about some redecorating projects. She plans to paint one bedroom her favorite color….purple!

Until next time, don’t do housework….QUILT!
