8/3/2023 CCLQ @ Carol's

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

This week the group met at Carol's and got a spooky sneak peak at the Halloween Decorations.   Not too early for the grand kiddos.

Gayle started us off with her completed challenge block.  Grateful for the motivation.  And shared lessons learned that all quilters should be using a scant quarter inch seam allowance when constructing the block.

Deborah had both her completed challenge block and the blue "test" block.

Cheryl shared some give away fabric she got from a friend.

Maggie showed 12 completed table toppers that will be used in the Wedding Lunch Reception for Matt and Sarah on the 19th.

Ella and Linda didn't have any shows but sure were happy to be there and share in the fun.

Linda told about the continuing transformation of the recently vacated rooms.

Lynda was very happy to be out and about now that she is sporting a walking cast.  She found the perfect project in her closet. The kit from Pineapple that has some wonderful prints and just enough complexity to keep her climbing the stairs to the studio.

Candy showed off the completed mixer cover that has side pockets for the smaller blades.

Carol has finished a donation quilt that is similar to the Solar Flare pattern.  Instead of half squares this one uses 5" charms and stich-n-flip two opposite corners with background white.  She is also working on two different sizes of Halloween quilts for the grandkids.  The goal is for each to have their own.

Coffee table runner of a cat and the moon caught the photographers eye and needed a closer look.
