1/11/2024 CCLQ at Ruth B’s

Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.

Today the quilters met at Ruth B’s home. As this 2024 year starts off Linda had a tell of sewing space organization and furniture placement to handle her new big ironing board.

Ruth S. is busy binding this donation quilt now that her blooming 9-patch quilt is on the guestroom bed.  She used some scraps from the quilt to applique decorative cuffs on some pillow cases.

Ruth B. is making a tote bag for friend and it's a good thing that the meeting was delayed so she will be able to finish it.

Candy has set her self a task to go thru boxes of photos and get them scanned.  This task is keeping her from starting any new sewing projects which makes for a frustrated quilter .... but she can still smile at the prospect of getting it done and back to quilting.

Ella was grateful to be in attendence and hopes to get back into sewing once her Grandsons help move some furniture around/out of the sewing room.

Gayle is feeling better and has decided she needs to get back into painting so she can keep up her skills.  The one quilt she will get going on is the Stary Night collage to free up her creative mind for painting.

Deborah is busy making lycra tunnels and body socks for the Grands.

Deedee is ready to gift the super cute reversible baby quilt.  Front side has Mom's colors and the back has African Animals for Dad.  Her tell was about a utube challenge from Angela Walters for free motion Dot-to-Dot quilt-a-long.

Carol continues to use up her colorful scraps as donation quilts.  This latest one will be an "I Spy" with a lot of little novelty prints.

Lynda wanted some no fuss sewing (we wont talk about the Tilda Ladies) so she found two patterns in the Moda Bakeshop book.  The Vintage Checker Board pattern will be done in blue and white jelly rolls.  The X's and O's will be from a wonderful Andover Fabrics layer cake.

Maggie had a tell about getting her new machine a Janome Continental M8.  It's going to take some time to rearrange things to fit it into the sewing room.  Her show was a little snap card holder pouch.  The directions were from a utube video and it took quite a few attempts before getting it correct.  Link to the steps can be found here

Have a Sew Great Week!
