9/12/24: CCLQ at Carol’s

 Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters.  This week quilters met at Carol’s home. A BIG THANK YOU to DeeDee for taking photos and notes for the blog today! 

Carol shared this lovely 16 patch scrappy quilt.  

Cheryl shared this wonderful Round Robin quilt. 

Beautiful quilting by Gayle.

Cheryl pinned the sleeve so this quilt can go in the DOQ Quilt show. 

DeeDee created a new Scandinavian star ornament for the Senior Center Craft Bazaar. 

DeeDee’s also showed a work in progress holiday table runner.

Linda purchased some new Kaffe Fassett purple fabric! Looks like a blooming nine patch quilt may be in the works. 

Linda shared this fun ABC quilt panel.  

Linda also found some cute baby animal fabric.  

Gayle’s at the beach….Deborah snapped this photo of Gayle’s “Anything Goes” quilt blocks during an FaceTime conversation.  Danny had fun sneaking into the photo! 

Ruth S sent a photo of her first appliqué project in 2007. 

Ruth S also shared her latest project…lovely fall placemats.

9/5/24: CCLQ at Lynda’s

 Welcome to the weekly meeting of the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week quilters met at Lynda’s home. 

Gayle made a new pair of cotton knit pants. She’s found a couple of online fabric resources for clothing fabric, Fashion Fabric Club and Mood Designer Fabrics. Gayle is looking forward to a vacation at the beach and is taking her sewing machine along! She plans to work on the Anything Goes quilt. 

Candy shared this cute comic from a friend. Hope you can view on a laptop or regular computer.  Zoom in to read the text. 

Candy added this awesome border to her Diamonds quilt.  She found the fabric at Cary Quilt Company. 


DeeDee created some potholders and an additional table runner from Barry’s quilt projects. 

DeeDee also reported that she found some cotton fabric at the Good Samaritan Thrift store in Burlington. This thrift shop has a good craft and fabric section. 



Could this be a preliminary design for an abstract art quilt?  🤪 It’s the remains of the pump in DeeDee’s backyard fountain. DeeDee thinks some raccoons messed it up.  

Lynda was happy to host bee today.  She making lots of binding for the blue and white quilt. 

Ella has been busy organizing her sewing room.  She found this beautiful table runner and plans to quilt it. 

Ella shared this photo of her newly organized fabric shelf.

Carol shared his fun scrappy kid sized donation quilt. 

Carol finished the top of this lovely Carpenter Star quilt for her niece’s wedding gift. 

Deborah got the bird quilt ready for quilting and plans to quilt a tree design on this one.

8/29/24: CCLQ at Cheryl’s

 Welcome to the weekly blog post for the Cherry Creek Lane Quilters. This week quilters met at Cheryl’s home. Enjoy the wonderful photos of quilts, clothing and Christmas decorations! This week was special in that several quilters completed or worked on Barry’s quilts.  


Candy finished sewing this lovely diamond quilt top.  She plans to add a border.  Candy offered a great tip for sewing the bias edges.  She used a half inch fusible interfacing on the edges. 

The group was happy to see Lynda and to see her gorgeous blue and white quilt!

Gayle shared a couple of newly sewn knit tops. Gayle has learned to create her own patterns as well. 

Here’s another lovely knit top created by Gayle. Gayle found a wonderful sewing YouTube channel called Thoughtful Creativity.  

Cheryl shared her beautiful Round Robin quilt.

Cheryl showed this quilt top made by Barry.  She asked about designs for quilting.  Gayle volunteered to quilt this quilt. 

Carol has been busy enjoying playing with her new grandchild!  She’s also getting ready for a bridal shower for her niece.  Carol made mug rugs for each guest with embroidered initials.  

DeeDee created this cool braided star ornament. Click on This to find directions. 

DeeDee finished two table runners from a quilt top that Barry started. 



Ella reported she’s been working on her sewing room and organized her fabric according to yardage. She loved seeing the completed projects from Barry’s quilt tops.  

Deborah finished quilting a small wall hanging made by Barry. Deborah has been listening to Missouri Star Quilting Tuesday Newsday while quilting.  Recently Jenny interviewed Janet Wecker Frisch who created the Alphabet Animals line which Deborah used to make quilts for her grandkids.  Janet has a new line of fabric called Old School.
